“Good morning, precious.” His voice was as decadent as the rest of him.

“Morning.” I sat up. “I was just about to get up and go.”

Master Snowden smirked as his eyes locked on my face. “Is that so?”

“Yep.”

“And where were you planning to go?”

“Uh…” Hmm. That was a damn good question. I retraced the drive from last night, trying to figure out where we were in relation to the club.

“Addison?”

I brought his face into focus. “Hmm?”

“Your plan? What is it?”

Mindful of Master Parker’s consequences for lying, I opted for the truth. “I…uh…don’t know yet.”

“Well, I’m glad to see you’re telling the truth. Seems we’re making some progress.” His smile was wide, his white teeth perfectly straight. “Come on. Breakfast is almost ready. Let’s eat, then we can talk about next steps.”

He sounded as though they’d come up with something.

“Master Snowden?” I called out as he was leaving.

He peered back at me over his shoulder. “Please call me Ben. For now.”

I nodded, feeling slightly chastised. “Ben? Would you mind if I use the restroom first?”

He motioned toward the master bathroom. “Join us when you’re finished. And there’ll be plenty of time to shower later.”

It was as though he could read my mind.

After he left the room, I hurried through using the facilities and washing my hands. I took a minute to look in the mirror.

Holy Mother Nature.

Wow.

It was a wonder anyone was willing to help me. I looked like hell. There were dark circles beneath my eyes and the light blue irises were dull and flat. I’d gone to sleep with my hair in a ponytail, so it wasn’t too bad. I pulled out the hair tie, then ran my fingers through the long strands before pulling it back up.

That was the best I could do for now.

When I stumbled into the dining room, I found Master Parker and Ben sitting at the table. They both got to their feet instantly, then waited for me to sit before they eased back into their chairs. It was such a gentlemanly gesture it caught me off guard.

“See? Like I told you,” Ben told Master Parker. “Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Did you sleep all right?” Master Parker asked as he motioned toward a plate of scrambled eggs. “Do you eat eggs?”

I nodded. “If it hadn’t been for those raunchy noises on the other side of the wall, I would’ve slept like a baby.” I had to get one in. They deserved it.

“You heard us, huh?” Master Parker didn’t appear the least bit embarrassed.

“Only mumbling and a lot of groaning.”

“It was a good night,” he said with a grin as he forked eggs onto my plate, then added some to his own plate.

My eyes dropped to the food. “And there’s not much I won’t eat.”

“Good to know.”

Ben passed over the bacon.

“Thank you.”

The food smelled heavenly. Bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy. My mouth watered just from looking at it.

“How’s your ass?” Master Parker asked, his eyes serious.

I grinned to myself. That was the same question I’d wanted to ask Ben after listening to their sexual orchestra last night. However, I replied with, “Much better, thank you.”

“So, no permanent damage?” he inquired.

Holding my fork to my lips, I stared back at him. “Nope.”

It was true. There wasn’t even a bruise, which was surprising.

“Glad to hear it.”

For the next few minutes, we ate in silence, a weird tension surrounding us. It wasn’t awkward, merely…different. Maybe with a sexual vibe, I wasn’t quite sure.

“I’ve set up an interview for this afternoon.” Master Parker finally spoke as he was going for a second helping of eggs.

It took a moment for me to realize he was talking to me. Not Ben. Me.

What the hell was he talking about?

I stared back at him, not sure I was understanding correctly. “An interview? Like what? A job interview?”

“Exactly like that.”

My eyes locked on his. He said it so nonchalantly, as though it was completely normal to have a job interview on a Sunday afternoon. Or to have a complete stranger offer.

“I…uh…” I had no idea what to say. I glanced over at Ben. “Perhaps you could elaborate?”

“We’re in the process of hiring a secretary,” Ben explained. “Our last secretary…well, she’s still with the company, but due to some changes, she’s now working solely for our partners, Landon and Langston Moore.”

The twin Doms from the club. Yeah. I knew who they were.

“Why is she only working for them?”

“Because she’s their submissive and they prefer it that way.”

Oh. Well.

Hmm.

Ben continued as though I wasn’t already perplexed. “We’ve been looking to fill the open position for a while, so it’s a good thing you came along.”

“A good thing?” Yeah. Lost. Totally, inexplicably lost.

“Her name is Luci,” Master Parker picked up.

I watched his words form, trying to wrap my head around it all. They could’ve been speaking pig Latin for all I was understanding.
