“Play with your breasts.”

“I’ll fall,” she said, her hands holding onto the wall for dear life.

“I’ll catch you,” I whispered as I sucked on her neck, then bit down on her shoulder.

She nodded, her whole body shaking, before she moved one hand off the wall and played with her breasts, rolling her nipples between her fingers.

“That’s my girl.”

I continued to move until there was nothing else I could do—I came with her next orgasm. When we both fell into a pile of limbs and sweat and need, I looked at her and smiled.

“Damn,” I whispered.

“That’s one word for it,” she said.

I took her lips again, needing her. I continued to move with soft, quick strokes. I was still hard. The woman constantly did that to me.

I kept moving, just needing to hold her. Needing to touch her.

“Be with me. Move in with me.”

I hadn’t meant to say the words then. I wanted to go slow. To figure out who we were.

But I really couldn’t help myself.

She lay cradled in my arms and smiled up at me.

“I was already going to take over a few drawers and just not tell you.”

I laughed and shook my head. “Really? Starting it off like that?”

“Well, you started off as my imaginary boyfriend, then my fake one. I might as well make me your live-in girlfriend. Even without asking.”

I took her mouth in a greedy kiss, and then smiled.

“Sounds like a plan.”

“You really were the best imaginary boyfriend.”

“Well, seems like I have a lot to live up to.”

“I think you’re doing a pretty good job.”

“Good. I’m never letting you go.”

“You think you have a choice? I was never going to let you.”

We laughed and held on to one another. We made love again, and I had a feeling we would be late to family dinner.

But honestly, I didn’t care. Not with the woman that I loved in my arms.

And a promise of forever I hadn’t planned.

Chapter 21

Devney

The noise in the house had now reached a level I wasn’t sure would ever quiet down. People talked in loud voices to speak over one another, raising their octaves as they laughed or wanted to tell a story. They spoke over one another, interrupted one another, and then paused to listen.
