“Oh, we can order you something else. Don’t worry,” Devney said, and I frowned.

“Don’t be nice to him. He stole your food.”

“I wasn’t going to finish mine anyway, because I ate tons of bread. I love bread.”

“Bread is life,” Luca replied.

“Damn straight,” Devney agreed.

“Still though. Don’t be nice to him.”

“Because he’s your twin, or because he took the last bite of my steak before you could?”

“She’s got you there,” Luca said with a grin.

“I like you guys, you all joke around, but you’re not constantly trying to outdo one another.”

“You clearly haven’t seen us on Thanksgiving playing football.”

I sighed at Luca’s words. “Seriously. We’re not great at it.”

“Not great at football? Or not great at stopping fighting?” Devney asked.

“Both,” August said with a laugh, and I flipped him off.

“I’m way better than you.”

“You wish.”

“I feel like at any moment they’re going to start beating their chests and playing football in the middle of this restaurant,” Addison said dryly.

“Maybe, but I’d like the show,” Devney answered.

I leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. “Maybe later.”

“Was that a turn-on?” Luca asked. “I’m not used to my big brother flirting like this. It’s nice. Good job, Devney.”

She blushed, and I narrowed my eyes at Luca. “Be nice.”

“I am being nice. I like Devney. I have said that behind your back, and it is nice to also say it to your face. You’re kind of cool.”

“Well, I try. Actually, I don’t try,” she corrected. “I’m not good at that whole thing.”

“You do pretty good,” I whispered.

“Okay, let’s talk about your favorite Star Wars movie,” Addison said, to change the subject.

“Dangerous ground,” August said, and I nodded, knowing that if we weren’t careful, Luca and Addison were probably going to get in a fight over dessert.

By the time we finished, I was full and my sides ached from laughing.

It didn’t even feel like we were fifth-wheeling anybody. Devney and Addison just fit in with us.

“I’m sorry Greer couldn’t come.”

“She’s on a camping trip with the guys, so she said she was sorry. But next time.”

Devney looked up at me, eyes darkening. “I’d like that. A next time.”
