Silence.

“Don’t tell me you’re gay too,” she said slowly.

I cleared my throat.

“Kinda, but that’s not what I need to tell you.”

“Jesus fucking Christ,” she hissed. I was hoping there would be time to carefully craft a plan to come out, but this would have to do.

“You’re going to need to start working on a statement.”

The already narrowed eyebrows narrowed even further until there was just a wrinkle separating them.

“Why?” She asked slowly.

“I’m the other man in the photo.”

The way the blood drained in her face was startlingly fast. I was afraid she’d pass out.

“You’re telling me that you’ve been in a sexual relationship with Holden Monroe since March?” She hissed, taking several terrifying steps toward me.

“It’s more than that. Much more.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” She shouted, and once again, the office went quiet.

“Alice,” I grit out through my teeth.

She took several huffing breaths while she paced back and forth.

“I have to call Frank,” she said and ran a hand over her hair.

“Not until after the final.”

She stopped and glared at me, then started pacing again.

“Who else knows about this little,” she waved her hand at me. “Thing.”

“Alex Prince and my mother.”

“You’ve been carrying on an affair with our biggest rival for what, nine? Ten months? And you’re telling me that only two people know about it?”
