Alex rolled his eyes.

“You’re really gonna do this, huh?”

“For as long as I can,” I said.

“Fuck,” Alex ran a hand over his face.

The late season international break meant we didn’t get the call up. Teams that were in the running for the cup weren’t exactly thrilled about sending their players off internationally to get hurt or trapped by travel, especially for a bunch of friendlies. It was an excellent opportunity for some of the younger guys to get minutes.

We were given a week of the two week break off to rest our bodies. That meant I woke up to a text from Nolan with very specific instructions. I packed a bag, got in my car, and was out of the house by eight.

There was no context for the instructions. But as I drove north and then east and civilization started to fall away, I realized what he had done, and I couldn’t get wherever I was going fast enough.

Miles and miles and miles of thick trees and rolling hills. Chehalis was exactly between Seattle and Portland. Only about an hour and a half away from both of us.

I bypassed the town and cut into the hills, nearly missing the turn for the driveway. The only indication there was a turn was a tiny blue sign that marked the lot number. It was a long and winding driveway, and when I found the cabin, my heart skipped several beats.

Miles and miles of no one around. No one to hear me scream and no one to interrupt us. Just us and one week.

It was a log A-frame, maybe twelve hundred square feet. Only two small windows and the entrance faced the driveway. The rest of the cabin overlooked the hills and into the mountains.

Nolan waited on the steps with a steaming mug.

Relief and joy soared through me.

We barely made it inside, kissing and tugging at clothes, before he dropped to his knees and pulled open my jeans. His mouth slid over my cock, and I moaned.

The first time he gave me a blow job had been incredible, and he had only gotten better.

He knew exactly how to bring me right to the edge until I was so needy for him it wouldn’t take long before I came.

I closed my eyes and bit my lip, instinctually trying to keep quiet. I was so close to cumming when he stopped.

I whimpered, frustrated, as he stood, holding my hips against the wall.

“I promised you this,” he said. “A place where I could make you scream.” His grin was the devil inside him. “You are going to scream for me tonight.”

I reached for his pants.

“No,” he pushed my hands away. “Let’s eat.” Edged within an inch of my life, the last thing I wanted to do was stop for breakfast, but I reluctantly tucked my cock away. Nolan took my hand and led me to the kitchen.

The cabin was nice. It was cozy, with tall windows overlooking acres of trees and hills. Not a hint of a human being in any direction. A big river stone fireplace was framed by windows from floor to ceiling, letting all the light and mountains in. I could see it so clearly, us on the couch in the firelight, watching the flames flicker together without needing to talk or do anything else, just lying together in peace.

From the oven, the hearty smell of something rich wafted through the living room. My stomach flip flopped. I hadn’t eaten in days, and my stomach wasn’t willing to put up with my shit anymore. I was hungry and could put off fucking Nolan long enough to eat.

He built a fire in a stone fireplace on the patio while I poured fresh cups of coffee and pulled out a quiche he had in the oven.

“You made this?” I called. He came up behind me and slid his arms around me. He kissed the curve of my neck, and I relaxed back into him.

“I am a man of many talents,” he murmured into my hair. He had always made simple things. Nothing fancy or time consuming. But the egg, cheese, and ham quiche looked and smelled amazing.

“How long have you been here?”

“A few hours,” he murmured. “I wanted to check the place out and make sure we’d be alone before I texted you.”

“Thank you.” Why did he have to be so fucking perfect?
