“God,” she says. “Such a bossy…ah!”

Lucy tenses, my hands squeezing her breasts as orgasm rushes through her. She starts shaking from the intensity, and I can’t hold back any longer. I grunt hard and my cock erupts, my balls draining deep inside her. We come together, reaching our peak at the same time.

When we’re done, she falls forward into my arms. I hold her close, kissing her neck and letting her catch her breath.

A short time later, we’re lying together under a makeshift blanket, our breathing slowly returning to normal, the absurdity of our location suddenly hits me. The dimly lit room of the construction site, with its half-painted walls and stacks of materials, seems like the last place for a moment like this. Yet, here we are.

I turn to Lucy, a lopsided grin forming on my face. "Well, that's one way to christen the new shop.”

Lucy chuckles, the sound warm and content. She snuggles closer, her head resting on my shoulder. "Leave it to us to turn a construction site into a love nest. Who needs luxury hotels, right?"

I wrap my arm around her, pulling her in for a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Absolutely. Who knew drywall and sawdust could be so romantic?"

She playfully nudges me, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Just don't expect this to become a regular thing. I have standards, you know."

"Oh, do you now?" I tease back, my hand tracing patterns on her back. "I'll have to remember to up my game next time. Maybe throw in a couple of fancy light fixtures."

We share a laugh, the sound echoing softly in the room. The laughter fades, and a comfortable silence settles between us, filled with a new sense of closeness and understanding.

Then, in a softer tone, Lucy looks up at me, her expression turning thoughtful. "Jake, can I ask you something? About Alyssa?"

Her question catches me off guard, a reminder of a part of my life I keep closely guarded. But looking into Lucy's eyes, I realize it's a part of me she deserves to know. "Yeah, of course," I reply, my voice steady. "You ought to know."

She hesitates for a moment, as if weighing her words. "I just... I never really knew what happened. With Alyssa, I mean. And Carter... he's such a great kid. He must miss her."

I let out a slow breath, feeling a door open to a past I usually keep closed. "Alyssa and I, we were never a fairytale story," I start, my voice steady but distant. "We met during my hockey days. It was casual at first, nothing serious. But then she got pregnant."

Lucy's gaze is attentive, filled with a quiet understanding as she listens.

"We were both shocked, unsure. But we decided to co-parent, to give Carter the best we could together. We weren't in love, but we had this incredible little boy who needed us." I pause, the memories vivid and bittersweet. "Near Carter's first birthday, Alyssa started getting sick. We thought it was just exhaustion, but... it wasn't."

I swallow hard, the next words heavier, harder to say. "It was cancer. Ovarian cancer. It advanced quickly, aggressively. Treatments, doctors, hospitals... it all became a blur. And then, just like that, she was gone. Carter hadn't even turned two."

Lucy's hand finds mine, her touch warm and steady. Her eyes are filled with care, a silent comfort in her presence.

"I've never really talked about this," I confess, feeling a weight lifting as I share these hidden parts of my life. "But with you, it feels right. Carter, he remembers her in his way. Pictures, stories... I try to keep her memory alive for him."

Lucy squeezes my hand gently, her voice soft. "You're doing an amazing job, Jake. Carter's lucky to have you."

As I look into Lucy's eyes, I realize how much this moment means. Sharing Alyssa's story, the pain, and the love, it's a part of me that Lucy now holds. It's vulnerability, trust, and something that feels a lot like healing.

Lucy shifts slightly, her presence comforting in the quiet of the construction site. "I had no idea about Alyssa. I'm really sorry, Jake. It's... a lot to go through."

I nod, a mix of emotions swirling inside me. "Yeah, it was tough. But talking about it, especially with you, it feels right."

She looks at me, her eyes soft and kind. "I'm here for you, Jake. Not just as a business partner, but, you know, as a friend."

There's an unspoken depth to her words, a recognition of the bond that's been growing between us.

"Thanks, Lucy," I say, squeezing her hand. "It's not easy to open up about this stuff. But with you, it feels different. Like I can be myself."

She gives a small smile, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "I always thought you were just this tough business guy. But you're actually pretty soft on the inside, aren't you?"

I chuckle, a warmth spreading through me. "Guess you're seeing a different side of me. Don't tell anyone, though. I have a reputation to maintain."

We share a moment of easy silence, the connection between us stronger than ever.

"You know," I start, looking at her, "Carter's crazy about you. He doesn't warm up to people easily. But with you, it's like he's known you forever."
