Either way, I’m not going to say anything. Something is better than nothing. Then again, I don’t seem to have the best of luck.
“I think you’re right,” Stephen smirks. His rough hand grabs my butt and yanks on the sensitive flesh roughly. From where he’s touching, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a bruise that he’s purposely pushing on.
They toss me into the room they’ve deemed as mine. The ground is wet and there’s a pungent moldy smell that’s taken over. In the middle is a top sheet, then a bucket off in the corner where I do my business. I’m not afforded any luxuries, but at least I’m not chained to the wall.
Stephan comes into the room with Ravi in tow, shutting the door roughly behind them. “Last chance to be a good blood whore. Maybe we’ll even let you enjoy yourself if you tell us what Satan’s Wheels MC is planning.”
I can’t help the hysterical laugh that starts in my throat, bubbling out of me before I can stop it. At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m wholly delusional.
“You think I know anything?” I laugh. I crawl to the sheet and lay down flat. The ground gives my back and neck a bit of respite from the earlier strain. “You heard him when he left. I'm nobody. Why would they give me information then leave me here?”
“What if they planted you here as a mole, to infiltrate us?” Stephan sneers, kneeling next to me. “Oh, I know. We’re going to have to do a cavity search, right?” Keeping my face flat, I do my best to steady my racing heart. They can’t win.
“Do whatever you need to,” I sigh, lacing my fingers over my stomach and staring at the ceiling. Reverse psychology. Let them think they’re one step ahead, but if I don’t plead against them, it won’t be as fun.
Both men turn to face each other, and I keep focus on the stone ceiling. If I look at them, they’ll know I’m bluffing. If I’m caught, I’m fucked.
Literally.
“It’s worth it. For all we know, there could be a microphone shoved up your ass.” It takes every ounce of power in my body not to scoff and snort. I’ve never willingly let anyone up there, yet they think I let someone plant something that could get stuck?
Count me out.
“We know you’ll enjoy it, babe,” Stephan says, lying down next to me. One part of my brain is screaming at me to fight back, kick them in the nuts, anything. Yet, the other more logical side is screaming at me to wait it out. Be patient. Ride the tidal wave.
Don’t make a ruckus until you’re ready to run. Unfortunately, with the state of my leg, I can’t go too far. Trapped once again. Nothing new.
Before I can even blink, my shirt is being torn in-half from one of the holes they’d made previously. My bra manages to hang on by a thread, yet that doesn’t seem to stop them.
Staring at the ceiling, I try to dissociate.
Their grimy hands grab and tug while my body naturally fights back. I’m not even sure what’s happening, it’s almost this out of body experience. Again.
Looking around, I swear I’m seeing this from someone else’s view. I can see them grabbing at me, tearing away at the last shred of humanity I have.
In a last ditch effort, one of my arms swing out and claw at Ravi, digging my thumb into his eye. Blood pools around us as he screams for help, his shriek higher pitched than any girls I used to know.
Hands grip my hair, my skull cracking against the concrete in their last-ditch efforts to subdue me.
Stephan pries my legs open and seats himself between them. If I tighten my thighs, it’ll only keep him there, or push him harder against me. Both are outcomes I am not interested in.
He fumbles with his pants as I continue to stare at the ceiling and have my third-world view. If I’m mentally here, it will be my end point. As long as I don’t have to be here for it…
“What the fuck was that?” Ravi hisses, head snapping toward me. I don’t meet his gaze, instead keeping it upward. His shoe meets my throat, stopping air from entering my lungs. The natural response is to flail around for mercy. My response is remaining utterly still, acting as if it doesn’t affect me in any way.
Knowing them both, it only pisses them off until I feel the ground shake slightly.
“Hurricane,” I gasp, not even leaving my trained stare. He lifts away from me, a deep snarl engraved on his face. They both get back to work between moving my clothes and undressing themselves before yet another shake is felt. This one is followed by a loudboom.
“Get up,” Ravi screams, lifting me from the ground and onto his shoulder. His boney shoulder digs into my stomach harshly. I don’t complain. The metal on my brace catches on the door causing them to back up and unhook it before moving again. Those seconds were crucial apparently as smoke suddenly swarms around us. They both stop, and Ravi drops me without care.
Falling like a rag doll, their steps are loud as they take off. There’s too much pain surrounding every inch of my body to move.
Moving is overrated anyway.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Takingoffintothebuilding, we bypass more explosives. It’s like a maze with the added incentive to go the right way or have a limb potentially blown off. Several more detonate, forcing us to change route as we storm the building. Smoke starts billowing from inside, streaming through the windows so harshly there’s a slight shriek.
