“I promise I’ll tell you everything once I have it all sorted out.”

“And how sorted is it?” I pressed. “Can I leave?”

Vince tapped his finger against the armrest, contemplating my question. I didn’t like how uncertain he seemed, but the North was not a family to be trifled with. Those Scandinavian fuckers were as ruthless as the cold landscapes they originated from. I could do without ever knowing how they dealt with those who crossed them, which I had now done.

“Vince!”

“You can leave, but take some backup, just to be safe,” he finally told me.

“You hesitated. Is a sniper really waiting for me?” I asked, my voice growing more forceful to underscore the gravity of the situation. Why wasn’t Vince taking this more seriously? His unusual calmness was putting me on edge.

“No sniper. You can go,” he assured me.

I observed Vince for a moment longer, then slowly began to retreat. I didn’t leave without being armed, and I brought a few of the guys who were guarding the place with me. We drove back to my house, and I found it all cleaned up. However, as I entered my house, I instructed the others to wait outside and couldn’t help but freeze by the staircase. My hand rested on the railing, and my eyes seemed to have a mind of its own, focusing on a spot a little further away. An image of Alison lying lifeless on the ground in front of me flashed before my eyes, causing my heart to race in my chest. I shook my head to dispel the haunting vision and rushed up to the next floor to gather some bags.

I packed some extra clothes, then went to the blue room. I packed Alison’s belongings that I had taken from her home and put them in a bag as well. I paused for a moment, just looking at the room. I had designed it as Alison’s personal hell, yet I couldn’t bring the entire room with me, and some things I couldn’t use because I needed the hooks to properly use them. It was frustrating. I felt limited in my games with Alison. However, once we got back to my place, I would have Alison hanging from the ceiling, teasing and punishing her body before taking her so hard she would cry out in pleasure.

My blood began pumping faster at the thought of that tantalizing reward once we could leave Vince’s house. But until then, I had to make do with what I had. Other items were going into the bag. Alongside the usual items like whips, ball gags, butt plugs for her training, dildos, vibrators of various sizes, rope, blindfolds, and cuffs, I added nipple clamps plus a clitoral chain, graduated orgasm balls, a spreader bar, an attachable chain to her collar, a silicone lips gag, and some candles. I had little to work with, but this would have to suffice. The bag was certainly filled, but I had no idea how long we would be gone, and I needed to ensure our games never ended. I even threw in a few costumes so our role-playing could continue. I still had fantasies for us to explore.

As I had told Alison, I wanted her obsession. I wanted her to find solace in me because when her world shattered, I wanted to be the person she thought she could turn to for help. But I wasn’t there to help her. I was the cause of her utter despair. So with a dark smile, I gathered everything and headed downstairs again. The silent guards were still there, waiting for me, and I was relieved to see that no one had been harmed while we were inside. We left the house again, and I locked the door behind me. I tossed the items into my own car while the other guys drove in their separate vehicles. We headed back toward Vince’s house, but as I glanced in the rearview mirror, I noticed something troubling: a car following us. My heart began to race, and I kept glancing at the black car not far behind me. Vince appeared to think that he had everything under control, but I didn’t like the sight of that black car. Every hair on my arms stood on end, and a voice in my head warned me that trouble was coming. It had been too easy to gather what I needed and return unharmed.

I noticed an exit from the road further ahead, one that would take me into the city instead of further away. I contemplated making a sharp turn and attempting to shake off the car in the busy streets, but before I could act, I noticed the pursuing vehicle slowing down. It began to fade from view as I continued to drive further away from it.

“What on earth?” I whispered to myself as I glanced behind, but the pursuing car was nowhere to be seen. A deep sense of unease settled over me, and just then, from a side road I had not noticed, another car sped toward me at full speed. I slammed the brakes, desperately hoping to avoid a collision, but it was too late. The front of their car slammed into mine, forcing it off the road and into a tree. While I had slowed down considerably, the impact still jolted my body, and the air was knocked from my lungs. Fortunately, I had remembered to fasten my seatbelt this time.

Quickly unbuckling, I reached for my gun and prepared to exit the car. The other vehicle seemed to be reversing, and I wasn’t sure if they were planning to ram me again. I hurried out of the car, gun at the ready, but to my surprise, they simply drove away. I pointed my gun in their direction as they disappeared around a corner, but I knew it was futile to shoot. Nothing about this situation made any sense. Why hadn’t they killed me when they had the chance?

The guards from Vince’s house soon returned, leaving their car running as they rushed over to check on me.

“Are you all right?” one of them asked.

I nodded, feeling only a dull pain in my body. The shoulder wound was throbbing more intensely. It had taken a hit, and when I looked at my car, I couldn’t help but let out a frustrated groan. It was in no shape to get back on the road.

“Those fucking Nordic assholes!” I yelled in frustration, tugging at my hair.

“Let’s get back before they come back for more.”

“They would have left the car if they intended to kill me,” I growled in frustration as I began to gather my belongings to transfer them to the other car. They quickly took the front seats, and I settled into the back, clutching my gun. Despite my words, I kept a vigilant eye on the road behind us as we headed toward Vince’s house. Once we were parked in front of the house, I grabbed all my belongings and hurried inside. I placed the bags outside my room but didn’t enter. My priority was finding Vince. Someone owed me a new car!

Unsurprisingly, I found him in his office, slowly typing on his computer, his illness making it difficult for him to avoid mistakes. He looked up when he heard me enter, but the smile on his face quickly faded.

“You’re bleeding,” he observed. Confused, I reached up to where a dull pain was throbbing in my head. I lowered my hand and noticed a bit of blood on my fingers, but it was from a small scratch.

“You said it was safe to go!” I snapped.

“They beat you?”

“They fucking drove into me!” I exclaimed. “I loved that car, and now it’s stranded on some lonely road, waiting for a tow truck! Someone owes me a new car!”

“But you escaped?” Vince asked.

“They drove off. It was a warning, Vince. It’s just the beginning. They relish the hunt,” I cautioned.

“Ah, yes, that’s the best part,” he chuckled, appearing oddly pleased.

“Why are you so calm?”

“It was a lesson, not an attempt on your life. I have it under control,” he assured me.
