Daddy helped her sit in the chair and get comfortable before she started to write her lines. She opened her mouth to whine about it taking so long when she looked up and his eyebrow was raised at her. She quickly shut her mouth and continued to write the stupid lines.

“All done,” she whispered, shaking her hand out.

It ached so bad, but she didn’t want to say anything and get an extra ten. He said whining about it, but she didn’t know if whining about her hand aching was part of it.

And she didn’t want to find out.

“Let me check,” he said as he grabbed the piece of paper.

She held her breath as she waited for him to say it was okay. She didn’t want to have to redo them all.

“They’re good,” he said. “Good girl.”

She relaxed into her chair.

“Let’s go snuggle,” he said.
