I keep her in my line of sight, but I don’t expend the effort to catch up. My Angel is pissed, and I especially don’t want her fury to rain down on me in the street.

I watch as she enters the bungalow and slams the door.Fuck me. I go to the kitchen and grab two glasses of water. I drink one and head to the bedroom, the only door that is the house that is closed, and knock.

“Angel? Can I come in?”

“I need a few minutes to myself Declan.”

“Okay, Angel, I brought you some water. I’ll leave it here.”

I set the glass down and walk into the lab to look over my slides.

I check the laptop to see if we have internet access. It’s down.

I put on some gloves and get to work with my microscopes. I can hear Brynn moving in the bedroom, it sounds like she’s throwing pillows against the door. The door is rattling in the frame. Thwap! Thwap! I sigh and try to ignore the negative energy blasting from the bedroom.Fucking Riesa, making a mountain out of a molehill.

“Angel, it’s not a big deal, I’d be glad to tell you how I know Riesa.”

The door slams open, and I hear it ricochet off the wall.

“It’s not that you know, or how you know Riesa, and yes, I mean in the biblical sense. It’s that I feel like you are hiding something from me and the two of you were speaking over my head like I’m a child.” She yells.

The door slams shut again.

I sigh and get up.

“I’ve got nothing to hide, Angel.” I say softly through the door. “You know everything already, even if I haven’t said it all out loud. And I’m sorry I mislead you. It wasn’t my intent to treat you like a child, but I didn’t want to have this conversation in front of Riesa. It’s none of her business.”

I hear a slurp and realize she’s chugging the water.

“Yeah, she said it was not a big deal when we left. Why did she call you Doc? I got the feeling it’s not because you were a medic.”

“No, it’s not because I was a medic, well not directly anyway. Fuck, Angel will you come here, so I’m not talking to a door?”

I hear the scrape of Brynn’s shoe on the floor, but she doesn’t appear.

“The men called me Doc in the marines, because I that’s who I was to them. It was a natural moniker to use for myself when I started going to the club.”

The sound of rustling blankets travels through the door. I carefully open it and peek inside. Brynn has pulled up the covers on our bed. I walk slowly into the bedroom; I don’t want to get ambushed. She is lying in the bed with the covers over her head. I bite my lip to keep from laughing. I sit next to her but make no move to touch her.

“Angel, Riesa was another Dom at the club. I barely spoke to her; I only ever saw her in passing.”

“What did you do at the club?” her voice is muffled by the pillow she’s smashed into her face. I try to pull down the blankets, and she fists them above her head.

“Angel, what do you think I would do at the club? I took my subs there. I trained others to be subs. I lived the lifestyle.”

The blankets burst from her head, her hair is a dark mess of static floating around her.

“No, I mean what did you do?”

“Specifically?”

“Yes. Specifically.”

“I fucked my subs Angel. In a million different ways with all types of toys, ropes, cuffs, paddles, and more.”

“Did you fuck them in front of other people?”

“Sometimes, if that was something they wanted.”
