Kai holds firmly onto my hand as we walk towards a beautiful marble staircase. As I look around, I can’t believe this is a nightclub. It reminds me more of an entrance to an opera house. Tall pillows and archway turret ceilings, crystal chandeliers adorning the high ceilings. Black and Ivory caress the walls, ceilings, and bannisters in a bold but elegant style.
As we ascend the staircase, leaving the masses of people who are entering the main hall downstairs, I gasp as there are another three balconies above this one. As we reach the first level, we turn to the left and start ascending the next staircase. I wonder which level we are going to. My answer is the second, as we walk across the balcony and four armed guards are standing outside another spectacular double doorway.
The guards open the doors as we approach and stand aside for us to enter, before closing them behind us. The room is beautiful, or should I say the hall, as it is huge. Directly in front of us is a balcony that must overlook the club, as there are sliding glass doors to divide it from the room. Which must again have soundproofing of some sort, because the only music I can hear is the haunting tones of Sia’s ‘Deer in Headlights.’
The decor continues the same as throughout the rest of the club. But in this room, there are couches, coffee tables and chaise lounges scattered around the room. A bar is on the right-hand side of the room, currently manned by two staff. To the left-hand side of the room is a small stage.
“Are we expecting entertainment tonight?” I ask Kai with a raised eyebrow in question.
Kai looks down at me with a smirk and raises his hand to softly caress my cheek with the backs of his fingers.
“I have all the entertainment I need tonight my Little Vixen, so my girls will not be needed tonight,” Kai replies.
“Your girls?” I reply coldly.
“Retract your claws kotehok, they are girls who work for the club for special parties. I have my own little dancer now, so what is my need for them?” Kai replies smugly.
“Maybe for our entertainment if you are not willing to share, Bret.” Dimitri cheekily mutters.
“If you wish to continue breathing Bret, I suggest you keep your hands to yourself. Valentina is mine and mine alone. That goes for you too, Sestra. After we have finished with our problem, I will get you all the entertainment you need,” Kai sternly replies.
“Rose is coming with Sam, maybe you will find her entertaining for tonight?” I suggest.
“Now, now my Little Vixen, do you wish my brother to have his balls chopped off and handed to him on a platter? That may be the entertainment tonight needs after all.” Kai smirks at me.
“Why, who is this Rose?” Dimitri questions.
“You wouldn’t be able to handle her Bret, she’ll eat you alive. She is so far from the desperate deprived housewives who fawn over you,” Isadora replies.
“I only use them for the information, you know that Sestra. Anyway, I’ve never met a woman who can resist my charms,” Dimitri replies.
Kai and Isadora burst out laughing and it’s so infectious that I join in. Dimitri looks wounded, but nobody pays him any attention. After minutes of us all laughing at Dimitri, we all calm down and take seats on the couches. I sit with Kai, Isadora and Dimitri sit opposite us. Lev sits on the armchair to our right. The bar staff come over, asking us our drinks order and then supplying us with them.
The guards that come with us, along with Misha and Luka, stand around the room on guard.
“Can Misha and Luka join us, Kai?” I whisper.
“Of course, my Little Vixen,” Kai replies to which, with a single hand gesture, he calls them both over and instructs them to join us.
About an hour passes in no time because we are all laughing and joking with each other. Mainly taking the piss out of Dimitri, but he takes it in his stride. Being an only child with no friends, it’s strange to experience the dynamics of them as a family. They bicker with each other all the time, but I can see the deep love they have for each other shine through.
Suddenly I hear raised voices outside the door and then they burst open. Everyone in the room suddenly has a gun in their hand, pointing at the newcomer entering the room. To my surprise though, she doesn’t look like a threat that is worth worrying about. Kai groans under his breath and everyone puts their weapons away.
Isadora looks at me and then at Kai. She must know this woman, I can tell by her reaction. Dimitri scrubs his hand over his face and grumbles something I can’t hear to Isadora, and she shakes her head. Fucking hell, who is this woman.
“Kai, will you tell these idiots, they said I’m not allowed in. They have never stopped me before, what the hell is going on?” The woman whines.
“Maybe it’s because your invitation has been revoked, Nadia?” Kai replies coolly.
This seems to ignite a rage in Nadia, as she marches over to us and stands directly in front of Kai’s parted legs. She looks angrily down at him and points her finger at him. Kai’s answering move is to look up at her with a bored look on his face.
“You do not revoke invitations to me Kai, neither you nor your minions get to do that. One word to my brothers and this little kingdom of yours, will be destroyed,” Nadia snaps angrily.
“I think you forget who runs this city Nadia, I suggest you take your sorry arse out of here. You are no longer welcome here or in any of my establishments. If your brothers are stupid enough to show their faces, I’ll make sure they are never seen again. Do you understand me?” Kai replies.
Nadia rages and goes to slap Kai around the face. I shoot up from my seat and in seconds have one the hidden knives from my stocking against her throat. My other hand in her hair, pulling her head back against me. I whisper in her ear.
“If you do not wish me to slice this pretty throat of yours open and bleed you out right here, I’d keep still if I were you. Now, you see that man in front of you, the one that you were just trying to lay your hands on? Well, he’s mine now and I don’t like skanky bitches trying to put their hands on him. Do you understand me?” I whisper.
