‘’I'll call you’’ I told her, and opened up the car door for her to leave.
‘’Wait, that’s it?’’
‘’Was there more?’’ I said with a somewhat smug raised brow.
‘’You know, I heard about you…’’ she said irritably pulling down her dress and exiting my car with a heavy slam of my door, before beeping open with her miniature remote the red Bentley in the car park next to mine which she'd driven up in ’’…the countless women you sleep with, yet never one was good enough for Seattle’s most eligible bachelor to take her hand in marriage’’ she then leaned down and looked at me through the window, her honey-colored eyes looking deep and hard into mine ‘’whatever you’re running from Hudson, I hope to be the lady in your life when you finally stop’’ and, with that Cassandra got back in her car and drove out from the car park without another word.
I sat staring out in front of me a while, wondering if every woman I’d encountered saw me that transparent.
I ran because I enjoyed the wild rush of wind. Because even with love still nested in my heart, I wasn’t ready yet to settle down...some days I wanted to, others I don’t know if I ever would. All I knew for sure was that I wasn’t the same lovesick puppy I was when I was with Jessica. And while there was zero love left in my heart for her anymore, the damage of what she’d done to it made it at times feel almost as if I didn’t have one.
Dismissing the pained emotion I could feel coming, I grabbed Taylor’s rucksack from out the backseat and headed in the elevator back up to reception.
‘’Hey Jerry, I need an extra key for my room please’’ I told the desk clerk when I reached ‘’I’ll be having company staying with me for a while. Not sure yet how long for so keep the expiry date open’’ I told him ‘’also if you could put my accompaniments name: Miss Taylor Wainwright into your system as my room guest, I’d be more than grateful’’
‘’Sure thing Mr. Avery, anything for our top guest’’ he beamed politely.
‘’You treat me too well Jerry’’ I grinned slipping him a $50 dollar bill when he gave me the key, before making my way over to the main elevators with Taylor's rucksack hoisted over my shoulder, and swiping my card to take me back up to my suite.
It was rather fun residing at The Olympic Fairmont, where after arranging a personal one-on-one meeting with the hotel's manager, in which I expressed eager interest in hiring out their top floor presidential suite as a permanent place of residency, I was given rather a generous deal providing I rent the suite out annually with at least one year in advance payment upfront. It was the perfect arrangement, as I could enjoy all the amenities the hotel had to offer, including room service, concierge service, free parking, 24-hour security and more, without the hassle of contracting everything out individually. The timing of when I’d moved in was to perfection too, as the luxury-styled hotel had only recently been deluxe renovated, with the cherry on top being that it was also in perfect location distance from work. And was a great meeting place for both business and pleasure, what with the downstairs public areas they had which both residents and guests could meet in, including my favorite of course The George.
The contract arrangement, which the manager gracefully agreed to without argument -most likely in large part due to the status of who I was- included flexibility to comfortably renovate my suite to my liking, with a fair indemnify clause to the hotel should I ever decide to vacate the premises. Overall, it was one of the best decisions I’d made, as I loved my suite and everything that came with it.
The suite was quiet now when I entered, and the overhead lights dim. The long lace curtains that hung at the window were still fully drawn apart as I’d left them, greeting me my peaceful nightly panoramic view of the emerald city skyline and Space Needle, perfectly complimented below the deep twilight glow of the calm night sky.
‘’Hey Taylor, sorry I was gone so long, business calls and all’’ I said placing her rucksack by the door next to the shoe rack ‘’how are you settling in? Taylor? Taylor?’’
I headed inside past the hallway mirror with a quick scan of my reflection, before making my way into the main lounge area to see where she was.
I walked and paused quietly over by the couch where I could see her slipper-socked feet hanging over the edge, and with a warm smile gracing my lips I stood looking down at her sleeping peacefully- well, maybe not so peacefully…I grinned, as I stood listening to her snoring get louder and louder, with her mouth half open sounding rather like a prehistoric walrus, but a damn cute one, with one arm semi-tangled around her long hair in the position she must’ve fallen asleep in on the couch.
With my smile still embedded, I did what came as natural as I carefully lifted Taylor in my arms and took her into the bedroom, laying her gently down on my Emperor sized bed…poor girl was out like a light, I thought, as not even my business phone buzzing away in my back pocket with its usual nightly notifications, were of any distraction to her. And oddly enough, the thunderous snoring still rumbling from her lips in her heavy deepened sleep, was a distant but welcomed comfort I hadn’t felt in forever.
With Taylor nicely tucked in, I removed all my clothing and headed into my ensuite bathroom. I liked to shower in the dark, especially after sex. It over time had become my euphoric nightly routine, where my skin felt smoothly awoken by the cool water cascading down on me, and it in a way heightened the feel of sensuality still lingering my body after orgasming.
Best of all though I found it made me sleep like a baby, or perhaps it was the solitude I felt after all was done and done. I prefer that notion than the act of succumbing to misery, one that saw me admitting defeat over the desensitization of knowing I could have what I want, yet never truly wanting what I have.
CHAPTER 14
TAYLOR POV:
Strong firm hands smoothed and parted my inner thighs at a soft steady pace that rhythmically thudded my heart. I shivered hard as my legs were raised up slowly from the bed, and placed over the firm muscle of broad shoulders in front of me ’’Oh god, mmm…mmm…’’ I groaned as my moist vulva was parted by cool fingers, each slowly gaining entry as they narrowed their way inside me, with my vaginal opening now the succulent invitation for the long rough tongue that followed…
Whoa…! I thought sitting up all of a sudden, my long hair sticking to my face and arms in light sweat from the sexually appetizing dream that woke me…where was I? I thought looking around all of a sudden, confused at the sight of the massive luxury bed I’d been cocooned in, before fluttering my eyes a little from the soft cream-coloured lighting around the bed's edge that suddenly dimmed itself on. With everything feeling so cozy, I lazily snuggled myself back under the covers, enjoying the beautiful feel of warm heat emanating all around me.
I lay looking at myself in Hudson’s large ceiling mirror, allowing my thoughts the relaxation to drift and remember all that had happened yesterday…the encounter in the park, the hero-styled rescue from my Mr. Midnight, the slick trickery of his generosity that sought me warm shelter inside his home, and most memorable of all…the offer of genuine work as a PA on his personal staff.
Even now it felt too good still to be true, to the point where I almost believed it too to be just a dream.
But it wasn’t.
Everything was real…it was all freakin’ real!!
The kid in me was ready to burst into song over everything that had happened. And while I didn’t know for sure yet what the future held, I knew what I’d been handed was a rare opportunity to shape one, and boy was I ready to run with it.
The only thing that confused me right now as I sat rubbing my eyes awake, was how I’d wound up sleeping in Hudson’s room last night, when I could have sworn after figuring out how to dim the lights in the main room -not knowing of course how long Hudson was going to be with his business calls- that I’d made myself all nice, comfy, and snug on the large couch ready to watch a little TV…goodness, how tired was I? I chuckled at myself, figuring I must have dozed off and done a little sleepwalking into the most luxurious room in the suite…your unconscious state quite literally took over the poor man’s room, tut tut to you Taylor…I chuckled to myself again.
I’m unashamed to say though that it was one of the best, if not the bestest sleeps I had ever had! I woke like a princess in a fairy tale, with little to no regret of my late-night sleep-walking antics.
