‘’I want to’’ she chuckled.

‘’And I promise by the end of the night that you will’’ I grinned at her ‘’okay then, let’s go’’ I said holding my arm out for her to take.

TAYLOR POV:

I wasn’t sure what he was up to, but a promise was a promise I guess. I, however, felt my body stiffen slightly when instead of heading us out to his car, Hudson for some reason led us back inside the building and through the restaurant, to another set of doors on the opposite side.

‘’After you’’ he said opening up the door for us to go through.

‘’Okay I have to ask, where are you taking me?’’ I said with a quizzical raised brow.

‘’There’s an amazing rooftop restaurant in this building also, very nice, very quiet, and best of all completely secluded this time of evening, so you won’t feel uncomfortable and we can enjoy our talk’’ he smiled.

I felt a little relaxed now, as that was exactly the kind of setting I needed, with everything about it already sounding so dreamy.

‘’Damn, like how big is this place?’’ I gawked as we entered through into what looked like a large reception area, with me craning my neck in awe at the gorgeous crystalized-looking chandelier hanging center of the room above our heads, before being ushered by Hudson into a set of elevator doors in front of us.

‘’Very big’’ he said sweeping his eyes over me, and the ongoing #strangercrush I had for him tingled every naughty bone in my body when he said that…get a grip Taylor. Don’t let your silly girl crush ruin the good graces this man is offering you, I scolded myself. And with my thoughts and hormones back intact, I stood watching the numbers on the white LED display take us to the top floor.

‘’I hope you’re not afraid of heights’’ Hudson grinned when the elevator doors finally opened, and we walked a few steps forward over to a door in front of us.

‘’Oh not at all, in fact, the higher the bett…’’ my voice trailed off, as did all feeling in my body as I stood staring at the sight before me…

CHAPTER 9

‘’I take it from that look you like it then’’ Hudson chuckled, his voice snapping me back to attention from the open-mouthed stare I found myself entranced in, as I stood looking in stunned awe at the beautiful penthouse suite Hudson had taken me to.

Putting two and two together and kinda getting four, I turned to face him now with a raised brow and inquisitive eyes ‘’…this isn’t a rooftop restaurant’’ I said folding my arms hard across my chest.

‘’No, it isn’t. But it will be in a moment…’’ he grinned, and before I could say anything more there was a sudden knock at the door, and I turned to see a dozen wait staff all filing into the suite with tray after tray of what looked to be an entire restaurant menu wheeling by me.

The rich combination of delicious food smells almost knocked me out for six with hunger, and before the last wait staff had even left, I was already on my second plate stuffing my fucking face full!

‘’There was no canceled dinner date was there?’’ I said all of a sudden, noticing only halfway through my third plate of food that Hudson hadn’t yet eaten anything, and was instead sat one side of the room on one of the suites luxury couches, with a now loosened tie and a smile on his face just watching me.

‘’I knew you’d never accompany me here if I told you this was a hotel suite’’

‘’You’re right about that, seeing as you were supposed to take me to a restaurant’’ I smirked with another raised brow, while shamelessly stuffing two garlic-fried clams into my mouth at the same time.

‘’And I did. The George really is my favorite restaurant’’ Hudson chuckled ‘’but you were uncomfortable there so I figured it time to implement plan B’’

‘’Plan B? You mean the one where you sneakily book out a hotel room on your credit card and pretend it’s a rooftop restaurant? Gee Hudson, theatrics much’’ I teased.

‘’Jokes on you sweetheart, because you’re sitting in my penthouse suite right now…where I live’’

(Cough cough!) ‘’Y-you live here?!’’ I sputtered completely stunned.

‘’I do’’ he said looking around him with a satisfied smile.

‘’Shit, sorry, I just mean um, if I’d of known this is where you lived I wouldn’t have made such a mess over here’’ I chuckled nervously, and quickly stood up from my slack crossed-legged position on the floor next the food, swiftly wiping down all the crumb droppings I’d made in my zombie fest 2000…his fucking hotel suite, really?! Omg!!

‘’You don’t need to worry about all that Taylor’’ Hudson said further loosening his tie and walking across the room to me ‘’the service that comes with the room will take care of all that. I’m just glad you’ve eaten a decent meal and-‘’

‘‘Sure no problem. Uh, if I could just grab back my rucksack from you I’ll be on my way’’ I said, politely saving him the ‘thanks for coming, I’ve done my charity do-gooder for the week, now please leave’ speech, as I made my way over to the front door to wait for him.

‘’For once would you please let me finish’’ he grinned walking over to where I stood, before gently elbow-escorting me over to the couch with him.

‘’I really don’t know what more there is left to say. Plus I’ve already taken up so much of your time this evening, and while I appreci-‘’
