I opened the door and was breathless within seconds as he grabbed me and kissed me like we hadn’t seen one another for months, not days. His hands were warm on my skin as he held my face. I registered the click of the door and that we were moving, but my mind was light with excitement.
“I know ya wanted yer space, but I couldn’t stay away any longer. I was going crazy,” Myles said as he picked me up and laid me down on the bed.
He groaned, and I pulled him down on top of me. The ball of heat in my stomach burned bright whenever he was nearby. His weight was as delicious as his lips tasted. My nails drew soft lines along his neck, and he shivered and kissed me harder. I couldn’t have said how long we laid like that when he grabbed my hands and held them above my head as he buried his face into my neck. My heart thundered in my chest, the thumping so loud I would swear someone in another room could hear it.
“Fuck Snowflake, I want ya so fucking bad. I just need a second to get myself under control.”
I could feel him through his jeans pressing into me, and I had to fight the temptation to play with fire and rub myself against his hard cock. My logical mind screamed that it was a bad idea while my hormones begged me to do it.
Logic won as he pushed himself up and off my body, and I shivered without the extra heat. Myles stepped back until he sat on my desk where I’d been working.
“God, I just want to stay in bed with ya all fucking day. Make ya come on my fingers and….” Heat rushed to my face and flooded my body. “Snowflake, I swear yer a drug in human form.”
He was always so dramatic, but I couldn’t say I didn’t like it. Myles was the one person who made me feel anything other than lost. Somehow, even when he did the stupidest shit, he found ways to redeem himself and made me feel special.
I stepped between his legs and loved the look in his eyes that told me I was everything to him. He rested his hands on my hips, and I knew I was falling for him a little more each day as the voice in my head warning me to be careful got quiet.
“What happened to your eye? It looks bruised,” I said, gently touching the swollen area around his eye.
“Ah, it’s nothing, just a disagreement with my Da, but we got it sorted.”
My face sobered, and he quickly changed the subject.
“Blake, Theo, and Liam wished ya a Merry Christmas. Apparently, they are having way too much fun scuba diving and taking a ton of pictures on Grand Turk Island. They left these for ya.”
He held up three envelopes and laid them on my desk.
“Are you sure you’re okay,” I asked as he stared down at the gold envelope on top.
“Aye, I’m perfect.”
I searched his eyes, but whatever happened with his Da, he didn’t want to tell me.
“So, no Merry Christmas from Nash? I’m shocked,” I said teasingly.
Myles smirked.
“He’ll come around.”
Reaching around him, I grabbed the card I’d finished making and held it up between two fingers.
“This is for you.”
He looked genuinely shocked.
“Thanks. Do ya mind if I open it once we are outside?”
“Sure, but why are we going outside?”
I stepped back as he scooted off the desk and stood, forcing me to look up at him.
“That is a surprise, but ya need to dress for the cold. Don’t be giving me that look. It’s a nice surprise, I promise.”
A giddy eagerness filled me as I darted away and ordered him to turn around. Laughing, he complied so I could pull on long underwear and my jeans. The key was to always layer in cold weather. Once changed, I tied on my boots while Myles held my coat in one hand and my toque and gloves in his other.
“You know you’re going to ruin your bad boy rep if you keep up all this nice stuff, right?”
He held open the coat to help me into it.
