“Pfft. No! I think your limp monk dick is starting to eat away at your brain cells because it’s starved of nourishment.”

I shake my head and chuckle. “My dick is plenty nourished, cocksucker.”Thanks to your sister.

His eyes are trained away from me, staring somewhere over my shoulder, as he takes a huge gulp of his beer. He looks as guilty as sin, and I’m pretty sure that’s a stalling tactic.

“Speaking of cocksuckers,” he says, slamming the bottle down onto the table, “I think that’s exactly what the birthday boy needs.” His eyes scan the room before he rises from his chair. “And I think I just found the perfect person to give it to me.”

If that wasn’t deflection, I don’t know what is. I’m even more confident now that it was Cassandra … his sister’s best friend. An interesting turn of events, and information I’m going to store away, just in case he ever gets wind of what’s been going on between me and Jacinta.

My eyes follow him as he walks over to a group of ladies standing nearby. They immediately welcome him into their fold, which doesn’t surprise me. I’ve seen him in action; he has charisma in spades. I roll my eyes when one of the girls laughs at something he said and he slides his hand around her waist, drawing her closer. Sitting back from the outside looking in, I can’t believe that was once my life. Sure, it was fun while it lasted, but I don’t miss that lifestyle one bit. I now know that the grass is truly greener on the other side.

I’ve been sitting here by myself for almost an hour. Connor’s two mates that came out with us tonight were doing shots at the bar with some chicks … they’ve since disappeared. Connor is now the meat between a two-woman sandwich on the dance floor as they grind themselves against him. And I swear to God, if one more dude puts his grubby hands on my girl, I’m going to lose my shit. I can’t believe I gave up a night with my son for this.

I’m halfway through my third beer, that’s now gone flat and warm. I hadn’t planned on drinking much anyway. I have to get Blake first thing in the morning, and I don’t want to be hungover.

My attention is so hyper focused on Red, and the hypnotic sway of her hips, I don’t even notice Connor approach the table. “We’re going to head out,” he says, with his arms slung over the shoulders of both girls he was dancing with. “You want to join us?”

“I’ll pass.”

“Come on man, it’ll be like old times.”

“Not interested,” I say.

Connor turns his attention to one of the girls. “He’s a practicing monk.”

Any other time, I’d refute that, but not in this instance. “Eww, really?” the girl on the right says, screwing up her face.

“Yes, really,” I state. “Refraining from any kind of sexual pleasure is a requirement of the monkhood.”

The girl on the left looks me up and down. “What a waste. The good-looking ones are either married, gay or monks apparently.”

The look of shock on Connor’s face is priceless. “Hey, what am I, chopped liver?”

I can’t help it, I crack up.

I reluctantly give the girls another hour, because Red looks like she’s enjoying herself out there on the dance floor. She’s also got the moves going on, so that may have something to do with it. I keep having to slide my hand under the table to adjust my cock in my jeans, because it’s so hard for her, it aches.

A guy joined their circle of two about twenty minutes ago, but he seems to have eyes for Cassandra, so I let him stay, but when some other douche slides up behind Red and puts his filthy hands on her hips, I draw the line.

I slam down my beer and rise from my seat. As I’m storming towards the dance floor, I see Jacinta elbow him in the ribs, telling him to fuck off. That’s my feisty girl.He doesn’t seem to get the message, because by the time I reach them, he’s still standing there.

“I believe she said fuck off.”

He immediately holds his hands up in front of him. “Sorry, I didn’t know she was taken.” With that, he turns and walks away.

“What are you doing?” Jacinta snaps.

“I don’t like people touching what’s mine.” Her mouth gapes open, but I’m surprised she doesn’t refute what I said. “Connor has left, so I’m in charge of taking you girls home … lets go.”

“I think I’ll hang around a bit,” Cassandra says. “Josh and I were just starting to get to know each other.”

“My name is Jordon,” he grumbles, making me laugh.

“I got the J right, sheesh.”

“Hmm,” he responds, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans, clearly unimpressed.

“You can escort Jacinta home. I’m sure she’d love to go for another ride on your—”
