“My—”

“There you are!” Addison pulled her in for a hug. “It’s so good to see you!”

As Jacqueline embraced one of her closest friends in the world, she smiled. That’s what Addison always did for her. She made her smile.

“Congratulations!” Jacqueline said as she pulled away.

Addison clasped Jacqueline’s hand. “I am not letting go of you the entire day.” And just like that, it was as if no time had passed between them at all.

“I missed you.” Jacqueline squeezed her hand.

“Me too,” Addison replied.

Jacqueline slid her gaze to Prescott. The fire in his eyes, and that hitched eyebrow, had her biting back a moan. His penetrating gaze was turning her inside out.

Breathe. Just breathe.

Addison flicked her gaze from her to Prescott, then back to her. “Do you two know each other?”

“No,” Jacqueline replied, biting back a smile.

“We haven’t met…yet,” Mac said.

“This is Jacqueline, my Big from college. Jack, this is my future brother-in-law, Prescott.”

Prescott extended his hand and she slipped hers into his. Electricity traveled up her arm sending another surge of energy whizzing through her. It was powerful, intense, and absolutely fantastic.

She couldn’t stop the feeling, and she didn’t want to either. Mac… er… Prescott… was doing it for her in the best of ways. Their chemistry was just as strong today as it had been in their private room at the club.

With his eyes locked on hers, he asked, “What the hell is a Big?”

Addison’s laugh made Prescott smile.

Ohmygod, ohmygod.

Hard to imagine he could look any better than he had stripped down, but his killer smile sent heat from her chest to her cheeks.

He’s gorgeous.

Jacqueline sipped the champagne, hoping the chilled liquid would tamp down the inferno running rampant through her. Prescott wrapped his fingers around her arm.

“You okay?” he asked.

“Uh-huh,” she bleated. “Why wouldn’t I be?”

“You kinda swayed, or something,” Addison said. “Have you eaten?”

“I’m good.”

“What’s a Big?” Prescott repeated.

“We were sorority sisters in college,” Addison explained. “I’m a year behind Jack, and the second we met, we just clicked. It was crazy.” Addison put a comforting arm around her. “She’s one of my besties. After I pledged, I asked Jack if she’d be myBig, as in Big Sister. She said yes, and, from that moment on, we were pretty inseparable, until she graduated and broke my heart.”

Jacqueline laughed.

Hawk joined them. “Hey, baby.”

“Hello, honey,” Prescott replied.
