Stryker slapped him on the back. “Papa Savage.”

“I can’t wait to be a dad.”

“Still not telling us what you’re having?” Hawk asked.

“Nope. You’ll find out when you show up at the hospital.” Jericho flicked his gaze to Karen. “Is this crazy man your mentor?”

Karen gazed at Hawk. “I wish. Addison is.”

“Doesn’t get any better than Addison,” Hawk replied. “Stick with her.”

“See you at the restaurant,” Stryker said, and he and Jericho took off toward the elevator.

Hawk pushed out of the chair. “I gotta get ready. We’ll talk next week.”

Karen didn’t budge. “Before you take off, I’ve got one quick question about helo training.”

Addison Skye was ready to put the retreat behind her. While she loved hanging with her fellow ALPHA Ops, she’d been balls to the wall for five days straight. Time to toss back a shot of Wild Turkey, fill her growling stomach, and chill.

After showering, she dressed in the only pretty outfit she’d packed. A white V-neck shirt that tied at the waist and matching bell bottoms. She dried her hair, leaving it to trail down her back. As she was lining her eyes, her phone buzzed with an incoming text.

“Hey, the party is a go. You in?”

Addison smiled. That’s the kind of relaxing I’m talking about. Her cosplay friend was in-the-know when it came to costumed parties at the beach.

“Can you pick me up?” she texted him.

“Sure thing. Party starts at nine. Where you gonna be?”

“The Tiki Lounge.”

He sent a laugh emoji. “What the hell are you doing there??? I’ll pick you up at nine fifteen.”

She sent him a heart emoji before pulling out the only costume she’d packed. She’d never gone to the beach andnotattended a cosplay party, so she’d come prepared. After transferring her Cleopatra costume and black wig to her backpack, she finished getting ready.

With her bag slung over her shoulder, she left her hotel room, walked down the hall, and stopped at Hawk’s room.

Knock-knock.

No answer. She rapped on the door again. Nothing.

Her stomach dropped. Was he with her mentee, Karen? He’d never hooked up with an Operative before. Had he changed his mind?

I hope not.

She didn’t care who he screwed, but he was one of the most respected Operatives in the entire organization. Sleeping with a new employee would be a bonehead move.

Although her mentee had potential, Karen got starry eyed every time she saw Hawk. Addison understood the Hawk Effect. Women went a little berserk around him. He was wicked handsome with tousled dark brown hair, bright turquoise eyes, a killer smile, and a body made of chiseled granite.

Not only was he super laid back, he was a kick-ass pilot, and he wasalwaysup for anything. He was a rock-solid friend, a loving son, and a very attentive grandson. Somehow, the man even made smoking look sexy. Women were drawn to him like nothing she’d ever seen.

Sure, he was flat-out gorgeous, but Addison didn’t mix biz with pleasure… ever. She had her ALPHA friends and she had her cosplay friends. She kept her worlds separate and she liked it like that.

“Hawk, you in there?”

Knock-knock-knock.
