Addison grew quiet. She didn’t want Liv using up more energy than she had to.
After a moment of silence, Liv asked, “How are you?”
“Good.”
“What’s going on with you and Hawk?”
Addison stared at her. “What do you—”
“You two were different last night at the wedding. I asked Jericho, but he didn’t notice. I’m not sure anyone did, except me. You know I love people watching. You two seemed alotcloser.”
“I can’t say.”
“Because Jericho will tell Cooper and Cooper’s by the book?”
Despite biting back a smile, Addison said nothing.
“I’m about to push a very large baby out my vagina,” Liv said. “You gotta give me something. What happened to sharingallour secrets with each other?”
“We’ve fallen in love. Isn’t that crazy?”
Liv smiled. “Not to me. I think it’s awesome. Jericho told me the guys have been waiting for this to happen.” She clasped Addison’s hand. “I couldn’t be happier. You two are so good together. Ow, ow, here comes another.”
Addison helped her as Jericho and Hawk walked back into the room.
Jericho was by her side, taking control, and supporting his wife through it. The second he walked in, her expression changed. Despite the pain, she looked happier and relieved. Addison slid her gaze to Hawk. If they had that kind of connection, she would be a very happy woman.
When the contraction subsided, Liv leaned against the pillows. “Come on out, sweet baby. Mama and Dadda can’t wait to meet you.”
“We should take off,” Addison said. “We’re headed to the farmhouse.”
Liv held out her hand to Addison. “Don’t leave me. I love having you here. We only called you guys. Our families don’t know we’re in labor.”
“We want to keep things nice and chill,” Jericho explained.
“Can you go to the farmhouse without me?” Addison asked.
“What’s going on there?” Jericho asked.
“I’m taking inventory of everything that needs to be repaired or replaced,” Hawk replied.
“I’d write the word ‘everything’ on my list and be done,” Jericho said and Liv laughed.
“I’ll be back,” Hawk said. “Deep breaths, Liv.”
“I’ll walk you out,” Addison said.
In the hallway, she kissed him goodbye. “I’ll see you in a couple of hours.”
“Miss me.” He flashed a smile before taking off toward the elevators.
I am so in love with that man.

On his way out of the hospital, Hawk called Prescott.
“Hey,” Prescott answered.
