“No.”
He hadn’t given anyone a massage in a long, long time, but he had to do this for her. Something special, just for her. He drizzled oil into his palm, rubbed his hands together, then placed them on her shoulders. Her skin was warm and soft.
Only forward.
They fell into a comfortable silence while he ran his fingers across her shoulders and down her back. He hadn’t paused to look at a woman in a long time. Yeah, he checked them out. And he absolutely appreciated their naked form, but that was forhisbenefit. Who was he kidding? It had been one long blur of meaningless hookups. Addison was a gorgeous woman, but her inner beauty was what drew him to her, and kept him anchored there since their friendship began.
“You’re gentleandfirm,” she murmured. “Feels amazing.”
When he ran his knuckles down her back, she let out a moan. “You might have a magic wand, but those fingers are your real jewels.”
“It’s my knuckles, babe.”
“Mmm, I love it.”
“I gotta tell you a work thing,” he said.
“Okay.”
“Cooper assigned me a mentee.”
“Nice.”
“Tommy.”
“Ouch. Is that awkward or did you get over the hookup thing?”
“I got past it… mostly.”
“You’re not at work much. Why didn’t you tell Cooper no?”
“Tommy’s my cousin. I don’t say no to family and close friends. You know that.”
“Whoa, that’s a lot of muscle.”
He lightened the pressure. “Better?”
“Much.” Her back muscles relaxed as he worked her tight knots.
“He doesn’t know you’re an Op,” Hawk continued.
“He’d probably get down on one knee and propose if he ever found out.” She laughed.
Hawk did not.
She peered around at him. “That was a joke. When did you get so territorial?”
“We’re good friends. I didn’t like that he’s been with you.”
“I told you, it meant nothing. You and I did something sexual and it was no big deal for us.”
Silence.
“No big deal… right?” she repeated.
“I got a rule. No hookups with anyone from work,” he said. “ALPHA or my company.”
“This’ll be our little secret.”
