She peered into his eyes. “I’m doing it.”
He picked her up, twirled her around. Her sweet laughter made his heart soar. While the missions would be super dangerous, he was confident she could handle them.
“You’ll be kick-ass, babe.”
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, but it was something Stoni Alexander said that helped me decide. She told me I was the bravest ALPHA she’d ever met.”
“I agree,” he replied.
“Thank you, my love. I’m calling Dakota.” She made the call, put it on speaker.
“Hey, Addison,” Dakota answered. “What’s going on?”
“I accept your work offer. I’m all in.”
“That’s great. We’ll talk more next week. Thanks for the call.”
After she hung up, Hawk wrapped her in his arms and kissed her. “Congratulations. How does it feel?”
“Awesome.” After a beat, she said, “But I don’t think Prescott is.”
“Neither do I. I’ll call him later.” He dropped a kiss on her forehead. “How long do we have before the fam starts showing up?”
Leaning up, she kissed him. “A little while.” She turned toward the spacious property. “I love it here.”
“Is this your happy place?”
She shot him a smile. “No, you are.”
“I feel the same way about you.”
As they peered into each other’s eyes, they shared a loving smile.
“We’re getting married in less than a month,” Addison murmured. “Married, Nicholas. Together forever.”
“I can’t wait.”
“Do you miss me?” she asked.
“Like crazy, but abstaining has been the right thing to do.”
She rolled her eyes, playfully. “I guess.”
Again, he kissed her. “I want our honeymoon to be something we’ll never forget.”
“Then, we should probably postpone the trip and spend those ten days in bed.”
Hawk chuckled. “The wait will be worth it. Trust me. I waited three long years for you.”
“And now you have me.”
“Forever, my sweet baby.”
“Forever,” she replied with a smile.
