She shook her head. “That’s too coincidental. I’m just missing something.”

He stopped rubbing her shoulders and leaned his ass against the window, facing her. “I’ve got to head to the farmhouse tonight before we meet your dad for dinner.”

“That’s fine. Just meet us at Carole Jean’s.”

“I’m not dropping you at the restaurant,” he said. “You’re coming with me to the farmhouse.”

“What time?”

“Seven.”

It was five-forty. “Let’s get outta here,” she said. “I need to get ready.”

On the drive home, Stryker called. Hawk put him on speaker. “Yo, baby.”

“I’ve got an update on your security breach,” Stryker said. “Good news, it wasn’t your former employee. Bad news… it wasn’t him. Based on network logs, I’m thinking it’s an inside job.”

“Fuck,” Hawk bit out. “I’ve got over three-hundred employees including my customer service team.”

“I’m looking at other log files from other computers, but it’s gonna take me a little longer. I’m sorry, brother.”

“You’re getting married,” Hawk said. “Give it to one of your hackers.”

“I’m not delegating this. I’ll let you know as soon as I figure it out.”

“I’m sorry Addison and I won’t be there for the rehearsal dinner,” Hawk said.

“Don’t miss my wedding,” Stryker said.

“Hell, no,” Hawk said before ending the call.

He released a growl. If it wasn’t Wayne, then who was it? Why would an employee want to destroy his business? That made no sense at all.

“I can see you thinking,” Addison said. “You want to talk about it?”

“I feel like a sitting duck,” he said. “I’ve already limited the number of employees who have access to all the accounts. I’m so damn pissed. If it’s not the guy I just fired, then who the hell is it?”

She offered some suggestions, which he appreciated, but until Stryker figured out where the security breach had originated, he had to run his company like it was under siege.

They drove home, parked in the garage. On the way in, she said, “I’ll be in the shower if you want to join me.”

She dropped a chaste kiss on his mouth before hurrying upstairs to get ready.

Rather than do the smart thing and join her, he opened his laptop and reviewed his employee teams. After a search that went nowhere, he found Addison putting on makeup in the bathroom.

“I’m sorry I missed you, baby,” he said.

She set down her mascara and stepped behind him to massage his shoulders. “I’m here if you want to talk about it.”

“I would if I had any idea who’s behind this.” He let out a sigh. “Feels great.”

When she finished, she dotted his back with tender kisses. “You gotta get ready.”

Fifteen minutes later, he found her relaxing on his balcony.

“You look stunning.” He stepped back to admire her. She’d worn a little black dress that was conservative and classy. No peep show for the girls, but short enough to admire her shapely thighs. He stepped close and inhaled.

“You are like oxygen to me,” he murmured before kissing her. “Where’s your wig?”
