“Got it,” Hawk replied.
“You good with that?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Hawk asked. “We usually work together.”
“Just confirming. I’ll see you in a few.” Cooper hung up
Hawk filled his bottle, then, as he made his way back toward his office, he called Addison.
“Hey,” she answered. “Miss me already?”
“Ihavebeen thinking about you.”
“Don’t go there.”
“Why the hell not?”
“I’m in the conference room and I can’t talk,” she whispered.
“Cooper said you’re joining my crew on Sunday.”
“Right.”
“Did he tell you Tommy’ll be there?” Hawk asked.
“I completely forgot he’s even in ALPHA.”
“Do you care if he knows you are too?”
“It shouldn’t be an issue,” she replied.
“He’s obsessed with you.”
“You think?”
“Yeah, I do, babe. He asks you out all the time. You tell him no, but that doesn’t stop him.”
“I never think about him,” she replied. “I don’t care what he thinks or how many times he asks me out. I won’t back out of a mission because the new guy is allegedly into me.”
“Not alleged, Addison.”
“I love when you say my name,” she murmured.
“You’re gonna have to leave the club early on Saturday.”
“I’m in, unless you don’t think I’m the right Operative for the mission.”
“I always think you’re the right one.”
“You charmer you.”
After hanging up, Hawk drank down half the water before calling Mags. When she didn’t answer, he grabbed his laptop, and went in search of his general manager.
Mags was seated at her desk, his cousin Tommy relaxing on her love seat. His arm was thrown over the back of the couch while he sipped from a lidded cup.
Not again?
“Hey, boss man,” Mags said, her cheeks flooded with color. “Look who dropped by.”
