Grace:I’m helping my dad with something here, but I can head over in an hour or so?
Billy:Perfect.

Grace:Hey. Have you talked to Noah today?
Billy:No. Everything okay?
Grace:Someone told him they saw my car at your place the other night.
Billy:Shit. Is he pissed?
Grace:He’s beyond pissed.
Billy:Great. Shit. I’m sorry. Goddamn big mouths in this town with nothing better to do than gossip.
Grace:I think we better cool it for a while. He’s super mad and if he gets any more upset about it I think he’ll tell my parents.
Billy:So? Your parents like me. Don’t they?
Grace:Of course they do. But they think of you as Noah’s friend. I don’t know how they’d feel about us.
Billy:I’m not good enough for their little girl.
Grace:That’s not what I meant.
Billy:They’re right. I’m not. Yeah, I can back off and let Noah calm down. You want me to talk to him?
Grace:No. Might make things worse.
Billy:Yeah, you’re probably right.
Billy:Can I still text you?
Grace:I would love that.

Grace:I feel horrible about yesterday. It’s not about you. I swear. Noah and my parents are just overprotective of me. And way too worried about what everyone else in this stupid town thinks.
Billy:Don’t feel bad. Really. I get it.
Grace:What did you do today?
Billy:Worked. Talked to the bank again. Tried to go over to Madison’s, but she wouldn’t answer the door.
Grace:What do you mean?
