Brax shifted me on the couch, exposing my ass, and gave it quick smack before I realized exactly what his intent was.

I bolted awake. “Hey! What was that for?” I rubbed my backside. It was still sore from the belting he’d given me last night.

Brax smirked. “To get your attention. Let’s go. Bed.”

Ugh, the downside of Daddy Doms. The stubborn insistence on taking care of you. I reluctantly dragged myself up the stairs as Brax followed me. I stepped into the guest bedroom and stopped. The bed was piled high with shopping bags. I looked back to him. “Brax?”

Brax shook his head, smiling. “Not me, darlin’, at least not all of it. Emma put the word out to the Blackstone family about the fire at your place. People have been dropping things off all day.”

“For me?” I looked at the array of bags, floored. I’d been taking care of myself since my parents died while I was in college. My eyes prickled with tears.

“Sure thing, darlin’. People care about you. I do, too.” Brax smiled, his dimples showing. “Time for bed, sweetheart. There should be underwear, pajamas, everything you need in there.”

I kept my gaze on him. There was something else I needed right now. Something that wasn’t in those bags.

I drew in a fortifying breath. “Can I…could I…maybe…stay with you tonight? Like, in your room?”

Brax was silent for a minute. I started to panic. I’d misread the situation, hadn’t I? He’d said he wanted to be my Dom. My Daddy Dom. He hadn’t said anything about sex. Maybe that wasn’t part of this for him. Maybe—

His face creased into a smile. “I think I’d like that, darlin’. Get ready for bed and come on over.”

Irushedthroughmynighttime routine, doing a quick wash of my face instead of a scrub and running the brush quickly through my blonde hair. I took the time to brush my teeth. Just in case. Back in the bedroom, I looked at the new pajamas, then opted for Brax’s t-shirt again. It smelled like him. I sniffed it as I tiptoed across the hall. Brax was already laying on one side of the king size bed closest to the door.

“I like that t-shirt on you. Much cuter than when I wear it.” Brax winked at me.

I pulled at the hem, blushing. “It’s comfortable. And…it kind of smells like you. Is this where you went to college?”

Brax nodded. “University of Texas at Arlington. Right between Dallas and Fort Worth. I was a Criminal Justice Major.” He shifted on the bed. “Window side okay for you?”

Any side was fine, as long as it was in his bed.

I nodded as I walked around the bed to climb in. Brax was shirtless under the covers. There was a tattoo covering his left shoulder, a complex Celtic pattern extending down onto his side and chest. I slid under the covers next to him, pulling the sheets up to my hardening nipples.

“Sleep tight, sweetheart.” Brax leaned over and turned out the light.

Sleep tight? I’d just seen him topless. Other than the orgasm he’d given me at the club and my, shall we say, individual pursuits, I hadn’t come in months. I extended my leg to touch his calf with my little toe.

“You need something, Avery?”

My eyes had adjusted to the dark just enough that I could see his teasing smile.

“Um…” The toe-tap was the extent of my flirting skills.

“Come here, baby.” Brax laughed, extended his arm.

I curled into the opening, snuggling up to his side. God, the man was built. I ran my fingers over his chest.

Brax’s fingers tipped my chin upward, away from his chest. He dropped his head to meet my lips with his. He gave me a soft kiss at first, his lips barely brushing over mine. Heat shot to my core, my arousal pooling as he deepened the kiss. He parted my lips, then his tongue slipped into my mouth.

Oh. my. God. I had never been kissed before. I mean, I had, but not like this. Not the total claiming of my mouth, the taste of his wintergreen toothpaste and his woodsy smell captivating my senses. I moaned into his mouth before I could stop myself.

Brax pulled back from the kiss and shifted, leaning me up against the pillows. He knelt above me. He ran his fingers down my cheek, down my neck, down to my…

I gripped his forearm. “Oh, god, Brax, oh…”
