He licked me top to bottom, and my pleasure was building … burning. I pushed on Ellis’s head, involuntarily forcing it down to create more delicious pressure. He kept his pace steady, and added a finger.

“Ellis!” I cried out, a bolt ofsomethingracing up my entire body.

“That’s it,” he murmured against me, kissing and nipping my inner thigh with his teeth while keeping up a tortuous rhythm in and out with his fingers.

“Don’t stop.…” I pleaded, uncaring of how wanton I looked or sounded. I had to reach the edge of the cliff. I had to get to the top of this mountain. Whatever was building had to be finished….

“Begging? Hardly appropriate for a queen.”

His voice was liquid velvet, dark and smooth and completely in control. I relished it. I loved it. I wanted more.

“Ellis,please.”

His fingernails dug into my hips as he thrust deeper with his tongue and fingers. I cried out, unable to help it as that elusive itch deep inside of me came closer and closer to being scratched.

“Don’t stop… . Don’t stop!”

He kept his pace steady, patient and unyielding as I finally broke into a million little pieces over him, my inner walls spasming around his fingers. He drew his head back as I came, eyes devouring me greedily as he took in every little micro-expression on my face.

I grabbed his head and yanked him up toward me, uncaring as I tasted myself on his lips. He groaned into me, falling limply on top of me as I kept my legs spread, encouraging him to nestle in between my thighs. I was so slick and wet that he barely needed to shift as he viciously pulled his breeches down and nudged my entrance with his tip. He slid inside in one quick movement.

Both of us moaned, and Ellis set a brutal pace as his hips snapped against mine, his expression utterly feral as he drove into me.

This was so much different than on the balcony, and so much better.Ellis was a man possessed, and seeing this carefully guarded prince—no, king—come completely undone because of me was a powerful aphrodisiac all on its own.

“I can’t—I can’t last,” he gasped out, eyes wide with wonder and a tinge of embarrassment. I wrapped my legs around his waist and locked them, my nails scouring down his back.

“Don’t,” I ordered him, and he moaned and wrapped his fingers in my hair, pulling as his pace increased. Three large thrusts later, he cried out my name, a warm gush deep inside of me confirming it was over. A proud smirk graced my lips as I traced my fingers up and down his back, letting him recover himself as he panted over me.

“You’re incredible,” he gasped, rolling over to the side and slipping out of me. He got out of bed before I could reach for him, my disappointment tempered only by the view of his bare ass as he went to a bowl of water and dipped in a rag.

He crawled back into bed, diving between my legs and gently wiping the rag between my legs, top to bottom.

“Shit!” I squeaked, unprepared for the ice cold water over my private parts.

He chuckled, and continued to clean me. “Sorry. You’ll be much more appreciative when you wake up that we did this now.”

I wanted to make a smart remark about how his ‘worldly experience’ had taught him that, but my eyes were already drifting closed, the glorious cocktail of happiness in my veins only speeding it along. The bed rose as he left, and I yawned.

* * *

I didn’t mean to fall asleep, only to rest my eyes. Exhaustion had set in from the day, and my body took over in demanding what it needed. When I awoke, it was still dark.

Jolting, I realized immediately I was alone. And a little sore. I stretched my arms over my head, hearing my back and shoulders pop back into place with satisfying cracks.

“Eve? Good, you’re awake. I was going to have to wake you soon anyhow. Everything is set. We’re leaving now.”

Ellis was at my side, taking my hand to help me out of bed and thrusting a pile of clothes at me. It took me a moment to remember what was going on, then I lit up like a fire in the hearth. That’s right! Ellis had promised to go with me! I dressed quickly with shaking hands, not wanting to say anything or dawdle in case he changed his mind.

There was a small spread of eggs, bread, and cheese with a goblet of goat’s milk waiting for me. I ate and drank quickly as Ellis kept watch by the door, his posture tense.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, wiping the milk mustache from my face with my arm.

He twitched, then gave me a tight smile.

“Just standing guard. The fae are on the loose, after all.”

Ah. Right. Them.
