‘Yes.’ He murmured approvingly against her. ‘Show me,agape mou. Let me get you there.’
She felt her release build again, this time with an intensity that had her body rising like a wave. He held her tight, keeping her steady as she finally cried out and shook with each blissful tremor and aftershock. When she finally stilled, he lifted his head, a look of victory on his face that shouted primal male satisfaction.
‘The condoms are in my bag,’ he purred, nibbling at her earlobe, sending shivers of excitement down her spine.
‘Oh...’ she murmured.‘Oh...’Realisation dawning, she blushed. She’d almost forgotten again. The shoulders of her dress had already been pulled down, leaving her breasts exposed. With one quick pull, it finally landed in a pool of silk on the floor next to the bed.
She lay there completely naked, and his gaze drank her in. His face showed appreciation as only a man could. It made her blush but she made no attempt to hide herself. What was the point when he’d already had his mouth all over her?
Xander could hardly contain his need. Gone was the shy, reserved Pandora he once knew, leaving in her place this vixen who seemed determined to drive him utterly wild.
Her eyes were a mirror of his own, blazing with fire and need.
‘Now.’Her whisper was urgent, said between shallow gasps for breath.
He needed no further encouragement. Pressing her down onto the bed with his body, he quickly removed the rest of his clothing before reaching down into his bag on the floor for protection.
He moved himself inside her in one slow thrust. They both moaned with relief from the final joining of their two bodies. He stayed still for a moment, afraid to break the sensation of pure pleasure coursing through him.
Her hips moved against him, her thighs spreading further apart, and he sank into her more deeply, beginning a rhythm of pleasure that was driving him higher and higher. Her body was all around him, suffocating him with need. Moving his head down, he sucked one hard nipple into his mouth. She gasped, a mixture of pleasure and pain, pulling him deeper inside her, wanting more.
His breath was laboured now, he couldn’t hold on much longer. He could feel his stomach clenching. His balls tightening, ready to explode.
‘Come for me...’ she whispered throatily.
That was all it took, suddenly he was over the edge, exploding in a pleasure so delicious he could feel it in the tips of his toes. His body convulsed with the efforts of his orgasm and she ground her hips underneath him, drawing out his pleasure as she reached her own. He fell down beside her, drawing her into his arms, out of breath and elated from his release.
Pandora sat in the Kyoto house looking out of the window the following morning. Silence enveloped her and she instinctively wrapped her arms around her knees. They were flying back home from Osaka later today, once Xander returned from wherever he’d gone while she was still asleep. She looked at her watch. They were going to miss their flight slot if he didn’t come back soon.
The morning outside was grey, a light drizzle making the mountains look as if they were gradually disappearing into the clouds. She wasn’t sure how long she stayed in that position, staring out into nothing.
What would things look like once they were back in New York? Would he even speak to her unless it was for an event? The thought of their wedding looming, the ever-growing guest list she’d seen him scrolling through... Her stomach lurched. She felt shaky and off balance and she knew exactly who was to blame. Xander Mytikas had done nothing but unsettle her delicate equilibrium from the moment they’d met and she didn’t just mean in the physical sense.
She’d never had a one-night stand in her entire life, the very idea of it went against everything she’d always thought she’d require in order to enjoy sex. But with Xander, it hadn’t felt like a one-night stand at all. It had felt like finally walking through the right door after months of wandering around completely lost in the wilderness. It had felt like coming home.
She shook off that dangerous thought, knowing nothing good could come of it. In the end, she had simply taken what he’d been willing to give and they both knew it was the smartest choice. But a tiny part of her wished she had resisted, wished she didn’t know what it felt like to have his lips on hers and his body stretching her own to its limits. She wished she were still wondering, unknowing, because she now knew that knowledge wasn’t always power. She had never felt so utterly powerless in her life. She glanced at her watch again. It looked as if she might be flying back solo. She’d better get ready to leave.
But when she walked down the steps of the house with her suitcase, it was to see Xander’s powerful form striding towards her.
‘I had a few loose ends to tidy up with Ran Tanaka.’ Xander frowned down at her suitcase. ‘Where are you going? I was hoping you’d still be sleeping.’
‘You weren’t there when I woke up,’ Pandora heard herself say, her voice flat as she continued to stare past his left shoulder. ‘I thought perhaps you had decided on a clean break. No hard feelings. So I decided to head back to Osaka to catch the flight.’
‘You thought I’d spent the night making love to you more times than either of us can remember and then just leave you to return to New York by yourself?’ His eyes turned grave and serious as he reached for her hand.
Pandora took a step back, knowing if he touched her...especially if he touched her with the same kindness she could see in his eyes...she would be lost. She wanted to walk away from this impulsive, reckless mistake with her dignity intact, a feat that would be entirely impossible to achieve if she gave in to the wild impulse she had to simply throw herself into his arms.
But it seemed she didn’t need to do that, because before she’d had a moment to react he had closed the space between them. His chest was almost flush against hers, his eyes bearing down upon her in a way that strangely reminded her of his angry office death glare. Was he planning to fire her as his wife already? Had he decided that winning his inheritance wasn’t enough of a reason to endure her presence for the next twelve months?
‘I never planned for us to sleep together in the first place and we both know it’s probably a terrible idea to keep tempting fate, but clearly we are both completely unable to exhibit any self-control,’ he said.
‘Speak for yourself. I could totally stop any time I wanted to,’ she retorted, lying for all she was worth.
His gaze turned gentle. ‘I thought we might stay in Japan a little longer.’
Stay. The word was like a war cry within her, lighting up all the darkness that had begun to encroach. It seemed too good to be true, him asking her to stay and it meaning exactly what she wanted it to mean. ‘For how long?’
‘I don’t actually need to be back in New York until next week for a board meeting. They can do without me until then. I haven’t taken a vacation from the company in three years.’
