“Yup, all set here,” Jessica responds.

“Movie?” Aiden didn’t say anything about a movie, and while I don’t know his every move, he would usually tell me his evening plans.

“We’re going to go see that new Channing Tatum movie,” Aiden pipes up as the kitchen door swings open.

“Did you wanna come?” Jessica asks, and I chew my lip nervously. Is she asking me on a date? A double date at that? What should I say?

“Ummmm.” I look between the three of them as they all stare at me, awaiting my answer. Is she asking me out of pity since I’m the odd woman out? Does she really want me to go?Fuck it, there’s only one way to find out, and I’m too old to second-guess such a silly thing as going to a movie with someone.

“Yeah, sure. Let me just grab my things. Do I have time to run to the restroom? I just want to freshen up,” I ask. Cain nods and gestures toward the bathroom.

“We got time, just don’t be in there for hours like Aiden usually is,” he teases as he grabs his fiancé and kisses his neck.

I hurry, grabbing my bag from under the counter and speeding off to the bathroom. I only have a few minutes to get ready for what could be my first double date with Jessica, and I don’t wanna fuck it up.

I rode with Cain and Aiden to the theater, and Jessica followed us. She invited me to ride with her, but Aiden quickly rescued me. He sensed my hesitation and said he needed to go over some work stuff since we didn’t have time earlier. The breath I let out at his words was heard in the next town over, I’m sure. The ride was uneventful, and in fact, Aiden had nothing to talk to me about. I rode in the backseat in silence as he and Cain bantered back and forth about who was sexier, Tatum or Bomer.

As we walked through the small parking lot to the door, Jessica walked beside me and even held the door for me as we entered. “Four tickets to Magic Mike, please,” Cain asks the ticket salesmen.

“Here you go. Your total is forty dollars even, and you can slide your card right there,” the ticket guy replies as Cain pays and snags our tickets.

“JustVinpayme later.” Cain shrugs. “It was easier to get them in one transaction than wait for all of us to check out.”

“I need snacks!” Jessica declares, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the snack line with her. We only have to wait for one person before it’s our turn.

“What can I get you, ladies, tonight?” the girl behind the counter asks.

“Can we get a large popcorn and nacho cheese? Oh, and a large Dr. Pepper. What do you want to drink, Loretta?” she looks at me as she asks.

“Umm, just a Coke is fine,” I tell her. “I can Vinpay you, too.”

“You’ll do no such thing, I want to pay for it. You better be planning on eating some of this popcorn too. No way can I eat a whole large tub by myself,” she giggles.

“Okay, so one large popcorn, nachos, and two drinks. Anything else?” the girl asks.

“No, not nachos, just the cheese, please,” Jessica corrects the girl, and in return, she gets a look that screams ‘what the fuck’.

“Okay, cool. The total is $35.69,” the girl drawls.

Getting our items, we meet the guys in front of our theater and head inside. The lights are just beginning to dim, so we haven’t missed the previews, which is my favorite part of coming to the movies. Picking our seats, I opt to take the one on the end. There is nothing worse than having to pee and walking past everyone’s legs. Jessica is next to me, and she lifts the armrest separating our two seats to set the popcorn tub between us.

As soon as the previews start, I’m captivated, ready to find out what films are being released, even though I rarely go to the theater. With the great films that are set to be released this year, I’ll have to make sure I come more often.

Channing fills the screen as the movie starts, and I mindlessly reach for popcorn with my right hand. My fingers brush against Jessica’s in the popcorn bucket, and a jolt of electricity flows through me again at her touch, just like the first time we met. I’m like a middle schooler experiencing her first crush with how I’m acting about our finger grazing. I turn to look at her, giving her a small smile, and she gives me a wink back.

“Excuse me,” Jessica whispers halfway through the movie. Looking up at her, I didn’t even notice her standing up. I turn my legs to the side so she can slide past me. “Thank you,” she tells me as she passes and heads out of the theater. Minutes later, she returns and sits back in her seat. As she sits, she moves the popcorn bucket to her opposite side.Okay, she must have thought I was eating more than my share.I think nothing more of it, -because, well, she did pay for it- and focus back on the movie.

My attention is quickly jerked from the screen once more and to my right hand, where Jessica has entwined our fingers. I look from our clasped hands to her face, and as I reach her eyes, she smiles brightly at me. We’re holding hands like damn teenagers, and I’m dying inside.Yup! It’s been confirmed, I’m pathetic. It’s been way too long since I’ve been fucked if this excites me, and from the wet panties I can feel under my leggings, I’m definitely excited.

We stay like that, holding hands for the rest of the film. When the end credits roll, we all stand up, but Jessica doesn’t let go of my hand. I move from the row, and she drops my hand as I grab my belongings before heading to the trash. She follows close behind, and no sooner than I toss my empty cup into the trash does she grab my hand once more. Leaving the theater, she holds the door open for me, and we make our way to the parking lot.

“Let me take you back to your car,” she asks. I look at her, and she has her bottom lip between her teeth. “Please?”

I don’t really have a reason to say no, and I really wanna say yes. So, what the hell. “Yeah, I’d like that,” I tell her.

She smiles a big, cheesy smile and yells over her shoulder to the guys. “I’m taking Loretta back to her car. Bye!” I laugh at her antics but turn to see their reaction. Cain is smiling, and Aiden wags his brows at me. I quickly turn back around and slide my free arm behind my back, flipping Aiden the bird. His booming laugh echoes through the night air, but I ignore him and let Jessica lead me to her black BMW M3. She opens the door for me as I slide into the passenger seat. She shuts my door, quickly rounding the car to the driver’s side.
