Raven glared at him, and it was easy to tell that she didn’t appreciate him answering for her. “I can speak for myself, thank you very much.”

Bianca’s mouth dropped open, and I studied Nash because I was trying to figure out if he was telling the truth or not. There’s no way this was true.

"Safe from what?” Bianca questioned.

“Last night, Raven was almost kidnapped,” Nash responded while he looked at Raven.

“What do you mean almost kidnapped?” I asked.

“Raven was almost kidnapped, but I stopped it from happening.” Nash didn’t elaborate anymore and there were still so many questions that I had. I was certain Bianca felt the same.

“And why aren’t we going to the police about this?” Bianca followed up with.

“It’s complicated and would only cause more confusion if the police were brought in. So, we are staying here until further notice.” Nash glanced at me and said, “Were you able to find everything I asked for?”

“I was,” I replied.

“Perfect. Would you both like to stay for dinner?”

Bianca smiled as her eyes darted between Nash and Raven and then she said, “We would love to.”

As soon as Nash asked, I knew Bianca was going to answer for the both of us. I couldn’t let her get away without me giving her a hard time. “Well, the princess has spoken, so it looks like we will be staying.”

Bianca turned and glared at me once more. It was something I was quickly growing used to.

We sat down at the dining room table. Nash went into the kitchen to grab what I assumed was food. Something had smelled delicious when we walked through the door, and I couldn’t wait to see what it was.

Raven cleared her throat and said, “Bianca, can we move Nash’s stuff to the other end of the table so that you and I can chat? It’s been so long since we’ve talked.”

Bianca raised an eyebrow at Raven as I stood up and did as Raven asked. Bianca sat down in the chair that was once occupied by Nash, and I watched as the two women in the room smiled at each other.

When Nash walked back into the dining room, his eyes darted between Raven and Bianca. He gave Raven a small nod, and I couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking.

Nash set a plate in front of me and then said, “I have one more favor to ask.”

“What’s that? And thanks, man,” I said.

Nash nodded. “I want to borrow your SUV while we’re here.”

My eyes widened, and I thought they were going to pop out of my skull. “You want to do what?”

“To ease the burden for you, I’ll let you have the Jag until I’m back on campus.”

I thought about it for a split second before saying, “Hell yes!”

While my SUV had cost a pretty penny, it wasn’t as new as Nash’s Jaguar. I’d eyed the car many times in the past as I tried to decide what my next car would be, but I hadn’t settled on anything yet. Maybe this would help me reach that decision.

“Well, since that is taken care of, let’s eat.”

Bianca and I dug into our food wholeheartedly. I couldn’t help but notice that Raven didn’t eat the rest of the food on her plate. I wondered why.

Raven looked up and said, “I’m done eating, so I’m going to put my dishes in the sink. Can I take anything else?”

Everyone else at the table shook their heads so she picked up her glass and plate and walked into the kitchen. A couple of minutes later, Nash went into the kitchen, leaving Bianca and me alone.

When I heard a loud commotion, I asked, “Everything all right in there?”

“Everything is perfect,” Nash called from the kitchen.
