“You’re an ass virgin. We’re not just jumping into that.”
“If I had any hope left for dignity—”
“Sex isn’t dignified. It’s weird and silly and gross and embarrassing.”
“You’re really selling it.”
“And it feelsso fucking good.”
Well, that was slightly more persuasive.
Theo tipped Rowan’s face up with a knuckle and gave him a soft kiss. “Let me tell you what—let’s worry about the first round, and if we eliminate the Sailors, I’ll give you some dick.”
Rowan shivered. Theo was so confident and a little domineering. The idea of Theo deciding what Rowan could have was kind of hot. “What if we don’t win?”
“Then I guess you’ll stay an ass virgin for the rest of your life.” Theo’s hands found his ass and squeezed, pulling their hips together. Theo was still hard. All of Rowan’s worrying and strategizing hadn’t put Theo’s dick to sleep.
“Alright, well then, I guess we’re going to have to win.”
“No other option,” Theo agreed. “I will, however, suck your dick tonight.”
“Yes,” Rowan said immediately.
“Alright, baby, get that dick out.”
“Is that your dirty talk?”
“There will be no confusion when I’m talking dirty,” Theo said, unbuttoning Rowan’s pants for him before moving on to his own shirt and pants. It was hard to get his brain to do anything when Theo’s abs were sitting there on a platter like this. He could see Theo’s ego growing the longer he looked, but he didn’t care. Theo was fucking sexy. He should know how into him Rowan was, not just because of their history, their connection, whatever undying love Rowan distantly remembered them confessing the night before, but also because he was fucking hot.
“On the bed, babe,” Theo said, and Rowan snapped out of his ab-induced stupor. He pushed his pants and underwear down and stepped out of them, eyes still unable to look anywhere other than Theo. He got on the bed when Theo raised an eyebrow at him, pushing Theo’s comforter out of the way so he could lie directly on Theo’s sheets. His bed smelled like him, that signature soft woodsy smell that was the deepest scent memory Rowan had that wasn’t rank hockey sweat. He knew the door was locked. He knew they were alone.
Theo climbed onto the bed after him, crawling over to him and covering Rowan’s body with his own as he leaned in to kiss him. This is what Rowan wanted. He wanted to be pressed flat under Theo, his lungs working extra hard to breathe as they kissed, Theo’s body heavy against his own. He could feel himself getting a little dizzy, and it intoxicated him.
Theo pulled back to look at him, pushing himself up onto his forearms and letting Rowan finally take a nice, deep breath. His eyes slid closed, and Theo surprised him with another kiss. They were both hard, pressing against each other, but not doing anything about their erections yet.
“I’m happy you picked San Jose, you know that?”
“Yeah?” Rowan asked, feeling a little smile he couldn’t control creep over his face. He’d spent most of the season feeling like he was ruining Theo’s life by being here.
“The first two years I was here were great, and I thought it was about as good as it was going to be for me in the NHL. Way better than when I was playing in Ottawa. Infinities better than Carolina.”
“Fuck Carolina. I was so upset with how they treated you.”
“You paid attention?”
“Theo, I’ve followed your career more closely than I’ve followed my own.”
He got a blush out of Theo for that. “Thanks, babe. I thought playing on this team with these boys, and doing pretty well all things considered, was all I could hope for. And I obviously wasn’t super stoked when you showed up in September. I spent a lot of those years trying to build my own career that wasn’t defined by you.”
“I’m sorry,” Rowan apologized again. Theo kissed him.
“You don’t need to apologize anymore, alright? You coming here made this the best season I’ve ever played. Even when I didn’t even want to look at you, you still made me better on the ice.”
“You made me better.”
“We make each other better. We’ve always known that.”
“Yeah,” Rowan said. If he could turn back time, he would put pressure on the Victory’s GM to try to get Theo for them at any point in the last eight years. But he couldn’t do that. Chasing after Theo to San Jose was the best he could do. He knew Theo needed to find success on his own first.
