And that, she surmised, was her cue. She shoved the last handful of eye-piercingly bright fake roses into the heart and took off toward where all the groomsmen’s RVs were. She hurried, taking cover where she could behind sheds and the resort’s pickups and random bushes to avoid getting spotted by the production crew wandering around catching candid moments of the wedding party. By the time she got to the RV with Kade’s name written on a whiteboard on the door, nervous sweat was beading at the nape of her neck and her heart was hammering against her ribs. She sprinted up the three metal steps leading to the door and lifted her hand to knock, but before she made contact, it flew open. Kade yanked her inside and slammed the door shut behind her.

In the next heartbeat, she was off the ground, pressed up against the door with Kade’s large hands cradling her ass as she wrapped her legs around his hips.

“I thought you’d never get here,” he said, squeezing her ass like he’d been thinking about doing just that for hours.

Needing to touch him, she steadied herself by holding his shoulders, thrilling at the contact. “Does that mean you have a Band-Aid for me?”

“Babe, Iamyour Band-Aid.” He pulled her against him so there wasn’t an inch of space between them, his heat seeping into her as she rubbed herself against him. “By the time I’m done, you’ll feel better than you ever have.”

Understanding what she needed, he pushed up against her, his hard cock pressing into her aching softness, pinning her lower half to the door.

“Daaaaaaaaamn,” she groaned, not giving a shit anymore about showing just how turned on she was because his dick was hitting just the right spot, not moving her hips so she could rub herself against him, the center of her yoga pants embarrassingly wet already.

“Oh,” he said, rocking against her. “You like that.”

She nodded, then let her head fall against the door, the back of her skull hitting with a thunk she barely felt.

“Babe,” he said, one hand moving to the hem of her T-shirt and slipping underneath. “Be careful. I like how that brain of yours works.”

She would have used said brain to come up with some kind of witty comeback, some teasing banter, some flirty chitchat, but the feel of his fingers on the bare skin of her stomach chased every single thought in her head away. All she could do was arch into his touch while grinding against him, so hungry for contact that nothing else mattered.

Kade nipped the spot where her shoulder met her neck, sucking and kissing on the spot as his hand traveled upward. Slowly. Millimeter by frustrating millimeter. By the time he finally cupped her breast, it was like she’d waited years. Her eyes squeezed closed, and she let out a soft gasp of satisfaction as he drew his thumb over her hard nipple, teasing the sensitive point until she thought she was going to lose her mind.

“Fuck, you’re hot,” he said against her neck as he made his way up to her ear. “No more interruptions today. I don’t care if the entire production team breaks into the RV, I’m going to bury myself inside you and fuck you until you come all over my cock.”

“Yes,” she whispered, barely able to hear her voice over the rush of desire.

“What was that?” He grazed his teeth over her earlobe. “I want to hear you.”

“Yes,” she groaned louder this time.

Then instead of immediately doing what he promised, what she was dying for, the talented bastard chuckled as he moved his hand to her other nipple, so he could tease and pluck and toy with it, too. All the while that mouth of his, which she wanted everywhere all at the same time, went from her ear to her jaw to the edge of her lips already parted and ready for his kiss.

Self-preservation, though, saved her at just the last moment.

“Not there,” she said, turning her face to the side despite her desperation to feel his lips on hers.

She couldn’t explain how she knew, but she just knew that if she did, she wouldn’t be able to find her way back when she got home—alone—to Harbor City. Kissing Kade St. James would mark her, change her. It would make all of this seem real, and shehadto remember that it wasn’t. It was just an experiment and a way to get back at her sister. It didn’t mean anything. It was just for fun.

But a kiss? That was something else.

He paused and let out a harsh breath and rested his forehead against the doorframe. Then, he lifted his head and looked straight at her, his eyes dark with desire and an intensity she wasn’t used to being the focus of.

“Fine,” he said, the word coming out like a low, rumbly dare. “But I’m going to kiss every other square inch of you but that sweet mouth.” He lowered her so her feet touched the ground. “Take off your clothes.” He reached behind his neck and pulled his T-shirt off over his head, tossing it to the side. “All of them.”

She would. She had every intention of doing exactly what he said, but she couldn’t. Kade’s chest wasn’t just a wall of hard muscle that made her mouth go dry. It was his canvas. A weathered owl, its wings outstretched so that the tips went from one shoulder to the other, was tattooed across his chest. It looked almost like it had been drawn on him with charcoal, complete with shading and layers. She wanted to stroke at each feather with her finger. She wanted to trace the lines with her tongue. She wanted to touch and taste him until he was as drugged with desire as she was.

She wanted.

She needed.

She had to have.

“Thea,” he said, snapping her attention back to his face. “Get naked. Because if I have to take your clothes off, I can’t guarantee they’ll be in working condition after I’m done.”

She stared at him, too turned on to fucking move.

“Babe,” he said, his rough voice practically a warning growl. “Now.”
