DOMINIC
Adelivery guy gets off the elevator and heads toward my desk. I’d messaged Reid earlier, telling him I’d order food, choosing a place I know Jenna loves, before walking her down to his office in the building.
I sign for the food just as Alex exits Josh’s office. I nod as he closes the door, leaving Issy, their shared girlfriend, in the other room. I never thought I’d be able to have a similar relationship to that of my boss.
“So, you finally made a move on Jenna, huh?” Alex says, leaning against my desk.
“Yeah.” I try to make myself look busy. Alex is a known gossip in both buildings. If he even gets a whiff of something he finds juicy, you won’t hear the end of it.
“There’s a lot of food there. I think Josh and Issy are going out to lunch.”
“Yeah, they are.” I know he’s trying to bait me. “I’m meeting some friends for lunch.”
“Oh, that’s nice. Anyone I know?” He asks, the biggest grin on his face. He knows way more than he’s letting on.
“Jenna.” I stare him down. Is he going to play his hand? Is he going to ask me flat out? My watch vibrates on my wrist, my alarm telling me I need to get my ass over to Jenna’s office for what Reid and I have planned for Jenna. “I’m heading your way.”
Alex and I head over to AB Enterprises, and he gets off before me, his floor a couple of levels below Jenna’s.
When I walk to her desk, I watch her as she talks to someone on the phone. A smile spreads over her face when she sees me. That warms me to the bones more than I thought it would.
“Okay, well, Adrien won’t be happy about that. I will not be putting that on his calendar today.” She looks at me, rolling her eyes. The person on the phone is obviously annoying her. “You can go over my head if you want, but you know just as much as I do that Adrien trusts me with his calendar, and he’s going to be even more pissed than if you just wait until next week when I can fit you into his schedule.” She closes down her computer and tidies up her desk.
Adrien opens his door, watching Jenna. We’re both watching her hold her own with this jackass. I know how she feels. We essentially have the same job, but her job is on a way bigger scale.
She shakes her head at him when he tries to take the phone off her.
“Do you want that time on Monday morning or not? Because it will get taken up quickly.”
Adrien and I both laugh, still watching her.
“Okay, you’re in the calendar for Monday at ten am.” She grabs her purse and hangs it over her shoulder so it crosses across her chest, right between her breasts. “Bye,” she says, slamming down the phone.
She turns and sees Adrien watching her as he leans against the door frame. “Malcolm?” he asks her.
She nods her head.
“I should have fired his ass last year when we cleaned house,” Adrien says. Adrien is the least moody of his friends. He has a much happier aura around him, but he’s giving Mike a run for his money right now. “Dom, you taking her out for lunch?”
I nod at him.
“Take an extended lunch,” Adrien says before nodding at me and closing the door behind him.
Jenna walks up and kisses me, taking us both by surprise. I moan into her lips, and I can feel her smile widen.
“Adrien knows,” she whispers.
“About both of us or…”
“Yeah.”
I raise my eyebrows at her. “He’s my boss, and he knows fucking everything.”
“Which means Sara knows,” I state.
“Which means Alex knows,” we both say in unison and burst out laughing.
She sees the bags in my hand. “You ordered?”
