I look out the window and see we’re heading towards Reid’s house in the Hills.

“Guy’s, I know it’s my first night back, but I need to go to my apartment.”

“No, you don’t. We got your stuff moved in earlier today.”

I don’t know how I feel about the guys making this decision without me. But I know I don’t want to wake up another morning without feeling one or both of these guys.

“I can see the wheels turning in her head,” laughs Dom, his thumb stroking my hand like he’s been doing the whole car journey here.

The car pulls up to the security gate, and we drive through. This is the kind of house I grew up in, and I guess it’s taken me until now to accept the fact that I’m allowed and I deserve to live in a house like this.

Dom holds his hand for me to grip onto as I get out. He pulls me into a kiss so our bodies are perfectly aligned. I tighten my hold on his neck as he deepens the kiss and then lifts me. I laugh, wrapping my legs around his waist, and this feels perfect. He carries me into the house and up the stairs. I look over his shoulder to see Reid smiling back at us. This is going to be my new normal. It’s not the conventional happily ever after. Maybe one day, this will be more normal.

Ilaugh as Reid has me pinned to the glass of the elevator because he insists on walking me to my desk, making some excuse about needing to pass something off to Adrien. Weirdly, my boss and my boyfriend are friendly. Reid kisses me, and neither of us notices the doors have opened until we hear a groan followed by an aww from two voices I recognize only too well.

Reid pulls away from me like he’s just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, which, if Reid had gotten his way, his hand would have been. Thank god he didn’t. No way I could ever look at Adrien again if he caught us in that kind of compromising position.

“Adrien, hi.” I walk past them both and head straight to my desk.

“I wasn’t expecting to see Reid with his tongue down your throat.” Mortified, I look up to see Adrien fighting to hold back a laugh. Sara is holding her hands to her mouth, and Reid looks smug. “Jenna, I’m glad to have you back. Three days with another secretary from the company were not fun.”

“Aww, nice to see you missed me.” I look up and see Reid has pulled two large envelopes out of his pocket, and it’s my turn to be confused again.

“Mike and Josh said well played.” Reid looks over at Sara. “Sara, if you ever want to join forces with these guys, let me know. Half of those winnings should be yours. Thanks for looking after Jenna that weekend.”

“Any time. She’s family. You all are now.”

My heartstrings pull a bit, and a tear forms in my eye. Adrien puts his arm around me. “Welcome to the family, Reid. Once this pain in the ass has gone, come into my office, and we’ll sort some things out,” Adrien says as he winks at me as he goes into his office.

“Thank you for walking me to my desk, but I need to catch up on stuff I missed while away.”

“I know, babe. I’ll pick you up later.” He kisses my forehead and walks back to the elevators. I follow his ass the whole time, and he really does have a good ass.

I see Sara smiling at me from her office door. “Jenna, I’d have done things the same way.” She closes the door, and I feel like Sara gets me in a way I never thought she would.

EPILOGUE - REID

BITTER SWEET SYMPHONY: THE VERVE

It’s been a whole ass year since Jenna, Dom, and I moved into my place. We’ve just finished a year’s worth of renovations that Josh’s company helped with, and Dom is now taking on jobs of his own as Josh expands the company.

Our chosen family has grown so much in the last year, and I can’t believe I thought keeping people in their little friendship boxes was normal. Everyone is over at the house for the season finale. Adrien and I will break the news to everyone that the next season will be the final season. We want the show to go out on a high and not be one of those shows that don’t know when to pull the plug and then have huge drops in viewing figures with every additional year that passes.

I close the door behind me and rest against it as I watch Dom lie on the bed, talking to Jenna while she walks around in her underwear. Dom and I have bonded so much over the last twelve months. If this thing between us has imploded, I guess we’re going to be alright.

“It’s starting to get busy down there,” I say. “As much as I love seeing you walk around in sexy lace, barely there underwear, I don’t think you want our guests to see you like that.”

“Maybe I do,” Jenna lies to me.

She might be comfortable walking around virtually naked at the club, but I know she’s not ready to go full nudist in front of our friends.

I grab her dress hanging from the door to her closet and wait for her to put it on so I can zip up the back.

“Okay, let’s go and get this show on the road. Then tonight, I get you both to myself for the rest of the weekend, and I can’t bloody wait.”

“Princess, you’ve been spending too much time with our friends from the UK if you’re casually dropping ‘bloody’ into conversions.”

“But it just fits so well,” she laughs, kissing Dom.
