I rest my forehead on Dominic’s. As I stare into his eyes, something between us changes. Reid and I had a strong connection almost instantly. But Dominic and I, I feel like we’ve been on a seesaw this whole weekend. But right now, as I look him in the eyes, everything has changed in this one moment. These two men mean the world to me and come hell or high water. I’m going to do everything in my power to give both of these guys everything they want because I know they’d give me the whole world if I asked them to.

BAD THINGS: CULTS
“Get Jenna in the car, and I’ll grab our phones and stuff,” I say, kissing Jenna on the cheek as she’s curled up in Dominic’s arms.
I collect our stuff and see a few missed calls from my manager.
G: You’re hard to get a hold of tonight. You’ve got the job. Call me when you get this. This is going to be huge for you.
G: We’re making the announcement on Tuesday. Until then, keep a low profile. We want you to appear as squeaky clean as possible.
Dread hits my stomach as I read Gabe’s message. I knew this was coming. It’s why I’ve been so fucking distracted all day. This could change everything. It will change everything, and I’ve just spent the last two hours in a room with two people promising them the whole fucking world, and I’m about the turn all that on its head.
“You okay?” one of the girls asks me.
“I’m fine.” I lie, pocketing my phone and heading through the bar to the bank of elevators leading me to where Dominic and Jenna will be waiting.
I pull out my phone, needing to speak to my friend and lawyer. Probably something I should have done before now.
Reid: I need to speak to you about something.
Jax: Legally?
Reid: Possibly. But I also need to tell my friend something.
Jax: Can it wait until morning? I’m still stopping at Chloe’s because of this thing with her stalker.
Reid: Yeah, morning works better for me too.
I’ve never felt bad about calling my friend at all hours because up until a couple of months ago, we were living on the same coast, and it didn’t matter. The guy had no social life, and everything was work-work-work. But he seems to have fallen hard for some chick he’s met in New York. I mean, he’s practically moved into her apartment over some ‘stalker.’ She probably sees him as some sort of easy payday. I don’t like it when I turn into this jackass.
I get off the elevator, and as I approach, my driver and bodyguard open the door, and I see a sleeping Jenna still curled up to Dominic. Seeing her like that, I know I’m going to do everything in my power to keep her and this thing between all of us safe.
“Good night, babe” Jenna flashes me a little smile before closing her eyes again. It’s the first time I’ve used her pet name since before we got to Hidden Secrets.
“You staying the night?” I whisper to Dominic as we close her bedroom door behind us.
“I thought it would be best. Emotionally, that first time submitting can be overwhelming. One—or both of us—should be here for her.”
“I wish I could, but I have a really early call time.” I hear how pathetic that sounds, even in my own ears.
“I’m here if you need a friend,” Dominic says and instantly looks like he regrets saying it.
I laugh because I get what he’s saying. We share a girl, which means we’re going to become close too. “Thanks, I’ll be in touch tomorrow.”
Dominic nods and sees me out of the apartment.
My driver is still parked where I left him, and he opens the door for me as I approach. A long sigh escapes me, and I feel his eyes zoning in on me. He’s known me most of my adult life.
“You look like you’re holding the weight of the world on your shoulders, which is unusual after you’ve been to that place. Usually, you’re more relaxed.”
“I’m good. I just have a couple of decisions to make.”
“Do they know that?” he knows my thoughts and thinking better than I do a good chunk of the time. I guess he’s also been my part-time therapist over the years too.
