Iwalk out of the elevator and down towards my desk with a bounce in my step and watch Adrien and Sara talk outside his office. When I forced my boss to extend his trip to Miami last year, I knew he needed the downtime. We’d had a stressful few weeks, and he needed an outlet. I’d never have dreamed that he’d come back with the love of his life. Or that the love of his life would be someone I could get along with so well. I’ve worked for Adrien since he opened this company a few years ago. I used to work for one of his competitors, and he poached me from the company I was at. He pays me amazingly well, and the long ass hours are virtually nonexistent; now he has Sara helping him run his empire.

Adrien puts her hair behind her ear and whispers something so only she can hear. She blushes before looking around the space and seeing me standing, leaning against the wall with an obvious smile on my face.

“Jenna,” she smiles at me as she pulls away from Adrien.

“Don’t stop on my account,” I smile. Sara is not into the PDA in the office, and I both love her for that and also think she’s kind of crazy. I sit behind my desk and move the mouse to bring my screen to life.

“Where have you been?” asks Adrien as he looks back toward Sara.

“Leave the poor girl alone. She works harder than anyone in the building. If she wanted to stretch her legs and see her special friend, that’s none of our business.” Sara smiles at me, and I want the floor to open up and swallow me whole. “Dominic’s a nice guy…”

Shit! They know about Dominic. How am I supposed to handle this two guys’ thing? Romance books always make it sound so dreamy and easy, but the practicalities of it are already proving difficult, and we’re not even fully through day one.

I pull up Adrien’s calendar and hope to god somewhere that he has a meeting soon I can send him to. His entire afternoon is free. I can’t remember the last time that happened. Oh yeah, I can; when he was on vacation.

“I have a telephone conference I need to get to with New York,” Sara says, heading towards her office on the opposite side of the space to Adrien. Her door closes, and Adrien sits in the chair in front of my desk, the same chair Dom sat in a couple of hours ago.

“You okay, Jenna?” he asks.

“I’m fine,” I smile back at him as I open up files on my desktop.

“Jenna, you’ve never been just fine in your life,” Adrien says. “You know you can trust me or Sara.”

Even I feel my eyes bug out at what he’s just said. Adrien and I have always got along and have a friendly relationship too. It’s the only reason I’m able to get away with as much shit as I can. Besides Sara and his friends, I’m the only person in the building who calls him out on shit and tells him straight when he’s a jackass.

“I’m going to get back to work, and you are going to go back to your office and make sure you get everything done so Sara doesn’t get annoyed with you later when you inevitably take work home with you.”

“You know I don’t do that as much anymore.” He gives me that smile, which is every woman's weakness, but I’ve stayed immune to it all these years.

I watch as he closes the door and hides away. Adrien knows about my crush. It was obvious when I turned red from embarrassment in the middle of a meeting we had, and I could run off the guy's entire film and TV credits.

Iwalk out of the restroom on the Executive Floor and head towards my desk, where I see Dominic and Reid sitting on the couches in the reception area between Adrien and Sara’s offices. They’re both early, and I’m annoyed but also secretly happy that they’ve both wanted to see me enough to get here early.

I can’t hide my approach as my heels click across the marble floor.

Adrien’s door opens as I approach my desk, and I stop like a deer in headlights.

“Reid,” He says, approaching him, his hand outstretched. “We don’t have a meeting, right?”

“No. I wanted to see Jenna about something.”

Adrien looks at me with a smirk trying to break free. “Well, Sara and I are off. Jenna, you okay…”

“I’m fine, Adrien,” I laugh nervously.

“See you tomorrow, Jenna, Dominic, Reid,” Sara says as she walks with Adrien. He puts his hand on her lower back as they enter the elevator.

I wait a minute until the doors close. “What are you guys doing here?”

“I told you she’d be pissed,” smiles Dominic

“I’m not pissed. Just a little annoyed. I told you guys six o’clock because I knew Adrien and Sara would have been out of here by then. Don’t look at me like that,” I smirk back at Reid.

“Like what?” He says, giving me that boyish smile I’ve seen a million times on magazine covers and billboards.

“Like you want to bend me over my desk and have your wicked way with me?”

We turn in Dominic’s direction after hearing him moan. I raise my eyebrow at him.
