“How big of you.” Those brown eyes of hers are playful. I could write an entire scene on how much I love them.

Grasping her chin, I hold her close as I take what she’s offering. Her soft whimpers have me deepening the kiss. I lick into her mouth, loving how responsive she is to me. Each swipe has me growing harder with need. Each lick has Gemma pushing closer to me.

Our need is palpable. The air around us thickens. I could stand here and kiss Gemma for hours and it wouldn’t be enough.

“Blake! I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

A voice I recognize breaks me out of my lusty fog.

Clint. The very last person I expected to be standing on the porch right now.

“What the hell are you doing here?”

“I can ask you the same thing.”

With a cravat on under his velvet jacket, Clint couldn’t look more out of place.

“Why are you here?”

Gemma’s gaze flits back and forth between the two of us.

“I come bearing good news from the studio.”

“Shit, really?”

“Yes. Do you have a moment to talk?”

He studies the two of us. Gemma looks kissed to within an inch of her life.

“I’ll see you later.” Her voice, normally so full of joy, is quiet.

I track her as she passes Clint without a glance and disappears inside.

Fuck.

Scrubbing a hand down my face, I meet Clint at the bottom of the stairs and lead him to my cabin.

“What’s this good news?” I don’t beat around the bush, blurting out the question the moment we’re inside.

“They love it and are ready to start.”

“Wait, really?” I can’t hide the shock from my voice.

“A family drama in a small western town? The execs were drooling for more.”

“Wow.”

“This place”—Clint looks around—“really did you some good.”

Not just this place.

Gemma.

I don’t think she realizes how much she helped pull my head out of my ass that day we went hiking.

I know Clint wouldn’t be standing here telling me how good the initial drafts are without her.

“Next steps?” I lean back against the couch. Clint’s eyes are taking in the cabin.
