I don’t pester her about it. It only upsets her more.
“I’m going to go grab a drink. Do you guys want anything?”
“I’m good,” Blake and I answer at the same time.
“God. You two are disgustingly cute.” She rolls her eyes and stalks off.
“You hear that?” Blake wraps his arms around me and pulls me in close. “Disgustingly cute.”
“Only the first time today.” I capture his lips in a kiss.
“Then we might need to up the ante.”
Blake goes back in for another kiss, his tongue sweeping into my mouth.
Every time he kisses me like this, it leaves me in a lustful fog.
“Blake. We need you back.”
“Gemma, computer is down. We could use your help with check-in.”
Voices yell at both of us.
Blake tucks a lock of hair behind my ear. “A manager’s work is never done.”
“And I guess you need to go make sure they aren’t destroying your words.”
“I’ll see you for dinner tonight?” Blake whispers into my ear.
“Absolutely, cowboy.” I slap his ass as I push him away. “Knock ’em dead.”
He tips a fake hat in my direction. “Anything you say, cowgirl.”

“And here Ithought I’d be the one running late tonight.”
Gemma looks exhausted as she collapses onto the couch next to me. I’ve been reviewing scenes for tomorrow’s shoot. “By the time we got the computer working again, it froze up. We’ll need a new one before ski season starts.”
“You’ve got your work cut out for you.” I hand her a glass of wine and drop a kiss on her forehead.
“How’d the rest of shooting go today?”
“We got the one shot in and that was it.”
“Really? You were out there for hours.”
I roll my eyes. “Clint said they weren’t putting enough emotion into it.”
“Really?” Gemma takes a long pull of the red wine. “It was breaking my heart watching the two of them break up.”
“I’ll be sure to convey the message to him tomorrow.”
I pull Gemma into my arms. A sigh of release escapes my lips. It’s only been twelve hours since I last held her, but it was twelve hours too long.
I’ve only been living here for the last two months, but I can’t imagine anything different. It was a lot of back and forth in the beginning, moving out of my mom’s condo and doing the preproduction in LA.
