“Damn right you do,” Jake said.
I loved this quiet after the storm. The teasing, the talking. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be easy, but nothing in life was. What mattered was that we’d have each other, even if some things would have to change.
“I hate to bring this up, but if Frank isn’t about to fire my ass for being with you, then we still have a problem with you working for me.”
“No problem. He fired me instead,” Jake said.
“He what?”
“Hold your guns, big guy. He hired me back. I’m going to work directly for him, not the resort. It’s a really exciting job, and I can’t wait to get started.”
“Really? That’s…that’s amazing. Does that mean he…”
“Won’t chop your balls off?” Griff finished for me.
“Yeah.” I choked.
“That I can’t promise,” Jake said. “But I guess you’ll find out over dinner later.”
“Don’t look so smug,” I said, tickling Griff’s foot.
“Hey, he already loves me. I gave him an early copy of my book, remember? And I taught him all he needs to know about threesomes.”
Both Jake and I groaned. I did not need to know what Frank knew or imagined went on between us in the bedroom.
“The most important thing is that he accepts us. Nothing is ever guaranteed in life, but while I love you and you love me, we have everything we need right here. Dad understands that,” Jake said.
“Dad?”
Jake smiled. “He’s been there for me all my life, but it’s like I couldn’t see it because I was too afraid he’d stop wanting me. I figured it’s time to let him be what he’s always been: a father.”
I scooted over to steal a kiss from Jake. “I’m so happy for you and Frank.” And then, since Griff was within range, I kissed him too.
The three of us ended up making out for a while, which was their sneaky way of making me so horny I’d agree to anything for a blowjob. Even watch an episode of The Beauty and the Bitch, or whatever the thing was called.
Jake had a key to his place, of course, but it didn’t feel right for him to use it to let us in, especially after what had happened yesterday.
We rang the bell and heard Jessie barking on the other side for a moment until Gabe answered the door with a giant smile.
“Hey, guys. Come on in. I’ll just warn you, Dad is in a foul mood since he realized Jake is moving out.”
“Huh, who says I’m moving out?” Jake asked.
Gabe raised his brows and pointed at the three of us.
“Babe, you’re moving out,” I said matter-of-factly.
“Oh, really?” he said, crossing his arms.
What? He didn’t want to move in with us?
“You aren’t?” I asked.
“Gabe, tell Dad we’ll be down in a minute,” Jake said and dragged Griff and me up the stairs to his bedroom.
He closed the door behind us and then turned around, placing his hands on his hips.
“Anything you want to ask me?”
