He opened the door so slowly, I worried about what was on the other side. And how did Griff know who or what it was?

“Jake,” I said. “What are you doing here?”

He walked in, his eyes locked onto mine with a confidence I hadn’t seen in him, and before I knew it, his lips were on mine.

My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest, initially because seeing Jake was unexpected, but as his tongue sought entry into my mouth, it was for a whole different reason.

Jake tasted like caramel. Sweet, rich, smooth.

I reached out for Griff. I needed him to ground me, bring me back to reality.

He held my hand, and as soon as Jake released me, their mouths met in a hungry kiss. Griff’s hand tightened on mine while the other pulled Jake closer to him.

This was not happening. Not again.

I wanted to say something, to stop this, but it was as if all the words had deserted me.

If my cock had been hard earlier, now, watching Griff and Jake kiss, I was about ready to blow.

I don’t know how long they stood there kissing in our strange three-way embrace, but when they stopped, there were no lingering looks. Or at least, I didn’t have time to wonder about lingering looks because Griff pulled my face down for a kiss.

He tasted of chocolate.

When had he had chocolate?

Why did they, together, taste like my favorite ice cream: chocolate and caramel?

My heart raced. Hands touched me everywhere, apart from where I really ached to be touched.

Jake’s mouth joined mine and Griff’s in a three-way kiss I didn’t think was possible. The mix of tongues, flavors, soft lips, and their moans was heady.

As it all started, so it ended. Griff was by my side and Jake by the front door.

“I’m sorry, I needed to know,” he said.

“Know what?” I asked.

“If it was real. If it really happened all those months ago. If I still felt the same way.”

And then he was gone.

I tried to chase after him, but all I saw outside on the lawn, lit up by our walkway light, were three bunnies.

Jake and the cuddly bunny scurried away, leaving only the bigger bunny staring at me a moment longer before he too left.

I woke up with a jolt. Griff was sound asleep next to me, and there was no Jake.

As stupid as it seemed, I got up and went to the front door. There was nothing there.

I leaned my head against the cold frame of the door, trying to get my breathing back.

What the fuck’s happening to me?

JAKE

Working with Mal was great. He was professional but fair. He was a very hands-on manager, but let you get on with your work. He just liked to understand what you did.
