"You don't want her to think there's problems with our rekindled relationship, do you?"

I heard more movement, and from the small opening of the door, I saw Aiden move to the kitchen island. Perfect.

That's it, baby. You're doing well.

"Richard, we split up over a year ago. Do you think it's believable that we'd go straight back into a blissful relationship?"

Dick came into view. Aiden had shown me a photo of him, but in person he was even more sleazy than I'd imagined. The guy looked okay. Tall, with dark, styled hair, but when you're an ugly person on the inside, it doesn't matter how much you shine on the outside, you’re still full of shit.

Aiden placed a glass of water on the island. He was keeping busy as I'd told him to because it would disguise any nerves.

Dick reached out for his hand. Aiden tried to pull back, but Dick held it.

"Baby, you have the perfect incentive, don't you? If you don't want your sick perversions to come out, you'll play nice with Mommy."

"Why are you doing this?" Aiden asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" He ran his finger up Aiden's arm.

He was lucky that they were on opposite sides of the island, or I wouldn't be able to contain myself. Punching him until his nose needed corrective surgery was not part of the plan.

"Not to me, Richard."

"I loved you, Aiden. Even when you were a nobody. But you never listened to me. You could be even more than you are. Reach heights other authors in your genre could only dream to reach. It was as if you were allergic to making money."

Aiden shook his head.

"I made enough money, Richard."

"Only people with money say that, you privileged little brat."

Aiden flinched but held himself. We needed Richard to keep going.

"When you didn't want to follow my advice, I thought maybe we could get married. Have the lifestyle we dreamed of, the lifestyle we deserved. But you had to come out with that lie about your trust fund."

"I didn't—"

"Shut up," Dick said louder, placing his phone on the island. "I have it right here. I recorded a call with your mother in which she told me that wasn't true. In fact, you can access your trust fund any time you want. Isn't that right, Aiden dear?"

Aiden went around the island. "Is that what you want? Money?"

"No, Aiden. I want everything. You, your money, your lifestyle, your connections. I want the life I thought I was going to have when we first met, and I found out who you are."

Aiden's voice was low, but not low enough that I couldn't hear it. "Please forgive me. Please, Richard. You're right. I was selfish, and I was only thinking about myself. When we're in a relationship it's about us, both of us."

Aiden threw himself into Richard's arms and the fucker fell right into it.

"How about we make it right? Let's make it official. We'll ring my parents and set a date for the wedding."

Richard grinned. "Oh yeah?"

"Yeah…but first…how about we make it official in a different way?" Aiden's voice was sultry and low. "It's been a long time since we've been together. I miss you…all of you."

Aiden took Richard's hand and pulled him into the master bedroom. I hid behind the door of the guest room until it was safe to come out. As soon as I heard the hushed voices, I retrieved my phone from where it was recording the whole scene and stopped it. Then I grabbed Dick's phone, deleted all of his videos and photos and did a factory reset on it before I removed the sim card and snapped it in half.

Then I walked into the bedroom to claim my man. It was time to be a super, badass silver-fox biker as Aiden had called me.

As planned, Aiden had made his moves slowly, so he was still fully dressed. Richard had lost his shirt.
