"So…" Tristan said, pointing at both of us. "I like it. I really like it. Now, I know you don't need the talk about the birds and the bees, so you're off the hook."
He scratched his hair, pretending to think carefully about his next words.
"I'll give you a free full car service if you wait at least twenty-four hours until you tell anyone what you saw here," I said.
"Twenty-four hours?" Aiden screeched.
"Aid, there's a five hundred percent chance he snapped a photo of us and sent it to Ben before he gave his presence away."
Aiden's chin fell, and I wasn't sure if it was because of me openly giving him a nickname or because, from the expression on Tristan's face, I'd been right on the money.
"I guess it's only fair. You're lucky I'm not married to Tom, or you'd have your wedding planned and your children's names picked by now. As you were…"
Tristan walked down the corridor and pressed the elevator button. Since we'd just gotten off of it, the doors opened straight away. He wedged his foot to keep them open and said, "Oh, you might want to accept the invite to come out with the guys on Friday."
"What does he mean?" Aiden asked. "Wait, let's go into the apartment before we have any more weird encounters."
I followed him inside. Aiden had said he was renting the apartment from someone who was away, so that accounted for all the elements that made the place feel really homey, but it was all the papers, notepads, and laptop on the dining table that made the place Aiden's.
"Do you want a drink?" he asked.
"I thought you didn't have any drinks available." I put my hands in my jeans pockets, mirroring him. He was going to have to make the first move if he wanted anything to happen between us, but I'd be damned if I wasn't going to show how much I really wanted him.
He looked at my growing bulge and walked toward me. With one hand he pushed me backward until the backs of my legs touched the couch.
I sat down and was surprised when Aiden straddled me for the second time that day.
If he was going to make a habit of this, I’d need to invest in sweatpants. Easier access and more room to move.
Aiden rested his hands on my chest and sat back on my legs.
"About Tristan…"
"What about him?" I asked.
"Is he really going to tell everyone he saw us?"
I tried to see in Aiden's expression if this was something that worried him. I understood that it could be an issue because he wasn't exactly an unknown person.
"He was mostly teasing, but he won't tell anyone if we ask him," I reassured him.
"Would it bother you if they knew?"
I chuckled. "I'm too old to care about what people think."
"There you go again with the age thing. Do you have a problem with your age? Because I resent that on your behalf."
"How noble of you. My fragile ego thanks you."
His eyes scanned me from my head to my crotch. "There's nothing fragile about you."
"So you don't mind if they know who you're sleeping with?"
Aiden came so close that I felt his breath on my lips. "Who said anything about sleeping?"
He slammed his mouth against mine, which was when I gave myself permission to touch him.
Fucking finally.
