“You have to go.”
“I’m dead without you.”
“You’ll die if you stay.” He had no idea how he knew it; he just did. “We have a chance to survive if you leave.”
She clung to him as he pushed her toward the door, but instead of fighting him again, she rose onto her toes and kissed him. “If you die, I’ll kick your ass.”
He chuckled as he clasped her chin and kissed her. “I have no doubt. Now, go.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
She turned and ran toward Asher and Logan. She grasped Asher’s other arm and helped lead him toward the exit.
Nathan’s heart broke as he watched his mate go, and though he would give anything to follow her, he turned to face the demons.

Killean kissedSimone goodbye as he adjusted his grip on his sword. She clung to his hand, reluctant to let go, but grasping her shoulders, Lucien pulled her away, and Callie took her hand.
Lucien met Killean’s eyes before guiding Simone away. No matter what, Lucien would protect her, and if Killean perished down here, they would see that Simone didn’t suffer before dying.
Feeling as if a blade had pierced his heart, Killean tore his attention away from Simone’s tears. She was so beautiful and much more than he’d ever deserved in this life. And for her, he would survive this… somehow.
The demons hissed in unison, and someone cried out as he gripped his sword, braced his feet apart, and prepared to fight to the death. When he briefly spotted Elena, she was staring after Logan with the same yearning in her eyes that filled his heart.
They’d just found each other again and were being torn apart once more. When she finally looked away from Logan, their gazes briefly met. Resolve filled her eyes as she stepped closer to him.
“Let’s kill these fuckers,” he said.
“Gladly.”

Logan glanced backat Elena as she stepped closer to Killean. More demons were pouring out of the entrance to Hell. They’d been waiting for them to leave so they could unleash Hell on those with the stones.
He looked around for someone to take Asher so he could go back. He’d told Brie he would get Asher out of here, but Elena hadjustreturned to him, and he couldn’t walk away from her.
Before he could hand Asher off to Jack, Lucien grasped his shoulder. “We can’t go back.”
“The demons—”
Lucien’s fingers dug into his skin a little. “I know, but we can’t go back. There’s a reason they were chosen and not us. They have a chance of surviving it; we don’t.”
“You can’t know that.”
“Don’t you know it?”
Logan started to protest his words, but Asher leaned more heavily against his side as he spoke. “He’s right. I hate it as much as you do, but he’s right. We have to leave.”
Before he could protest further, some of the hunters from the Arizona compound fell in behind him, blocking his way.
“If you start a fight here, it will only distract her,” Lucien said. “Keep walking, Logan.”
“That’s easy for you to say; you have your mate with you.”
“But my family remains in that cavern.Keepwalking.”
