There was mumbling and nodding and a few cheers I didn’t understand. This all seemed crazy. I should’ve just left and never looked back. The problem was that Kai was part of me. We were forever tied together, no matter how angry or hurt we got, and it felt like those wild and very turbulent emotions bound us tighter. Now he’d just claimed me, and my stupid heart swelled with a toxic joy.

“You think threatening people will make this all go away?”

Kai gripped the front of my shirt, and I sucked in a deep breath as he brought us nose-to-nose. “No, it’s because I fucking love you, and I don’t care who knows. You’re mine, Tink, and I’m only letting go if I’m in a body bag.”

My heart hammered fast inside my chest with his words. Why that turned me on and made me want him more was beyond me. My body was heating up for a totally different reason as the anger subsided a notch.

Kai’s stare made it hard to draw a breath, but as he grabbed the jacket from my hold and tossed it on the table, I stopped breathing altogether.

“Take your shirt off,” he ordered.

“No. Why?” I looked around at the dozens of eyes and wanted to sink into the couch and disappear.

“Because I’m going to fuck you right now, in front of them.” He pointed to the crowd that hadn’t dwindled at all. In fact, it seemed like more people were staring.

“Have you lost your mind?” I whispered harshly.

Kai leaned down and gripped my jaw in his hand, and I gasped in a sharp breath as he got right in my face. Our noses softly touched, and all I could feel was my pulse pounding in my neck.

“By your own words, I can have you anyplace, anytime, and any way that I want. Were you lying?”

I licked my lips. “No, but….”

“No buts. No one in here will touch me ever again, and now it’s your turn to prove you meant what you said.”

I’d said it, and I’d meant it, but I never thought in a million years he would want to fuck me in front of his club in the middle of the clubhouse. I turned my head and looked to the side, but Kai used his finger to turn my eyes back to his.

“You only look at me. I’m the only one that matters,” he ordered, and I nodded. “Good. We have something to take care of first, though. Take your T-shirt and jeans off,” he stood and looked around. “Leech, go get your kit,” he said.

I wasn’t sure what the hell he was up to, but my shaking hands went to the button on my jeans. Was I really going to do this? I’d never even kissed a guy in public until Avro.

“I said take them off, don’t make me rip them off you. You know I’ll do it,” Kai commanded, and I glanced at the exit for just a moment as I contemplated bolting for the door and then wondered how far I’d get before he caught me.

Pushing the jeans down my legs, I balled them up on my lap, trying for a semblance of modesty. A man who reminded me of an old wizard dressed in biker gear pushed through the crowd so deep that I couldn’t see the far side of the room. I spotted the girl I hadn’t gotten a chance to hit standing in the inner ring of people, and the memory of the other girl on Kai’s lap crossed my mind.

A steely resolve formed in my chest, along with the earlier burning jealousy. No, if Kai wanted to make a statement, I’d let him. I’d rip her hair out one handful at a time if she ever touched Kai again, and if this would stop that from happening, then I would do whatever he wanted.

“Stand up,” Kai said. Pushing myself to my feet, I dropped the jeans on top of the jacket and peeled off my shirt. Kai groaned, and I looked up to see him staring at my body. He held out his arm and tapped on a tattoo that said, Lost Souls. “I want this font, and I want you to put her name right here.”

Kai pulled his T-shirt up and over his head. My hands covered my mouth as I saw the bruising that lined the left side of his ribs. “Kai, what the hell happened?”

“We were attacked yesterday by another MC, and I got shot.”

I thought I was going to faint, and grabbed his arm, my nails digging in.

“I don’t understand.”

“I’ll explain later.” He tossed the T-shirt on top of the growing pile of clothes. “Right here over my heart.” The older guy opened what looked like a small toolbox and got everything set up.

“You want a tattoo of my name,” I asked softly.

Kai didn’t bother answering with words. He grabbed the back of my neck and dropped his mouth to mine. Any lingering voices of doubt were wiped away. He didn’t stop kissing me as the buzzing of the tattoo artist’s gun started up. Even the kiss was a demonstration or a message, maybe. He didn’t let go of my neck or release me from the kiss until Leech finished his work. It looked amazing, and I felt myself getting all emotional and quickly reined it in.

“Now it’s your turn. I want my name right here,” Kai said, tapping the front of my leg right at the very top. This was just another thing I shouldn’t want with all the uncertainty swirling around us, but I did. “Make it look sexy.” Leech sat down on the low coffee table and was now right in front of me with his head at the same height as my pussy. My tiny thong was the only barrier between myself and this stranger.

Leech placed his hand on my leg, and Kai growled. “Leech, if you touch her more than you need to or in any way I don’t like, I will cut your fingers off one at a time with a bolt cutter. And I’ll make it nice and slow, so you feel it compressing the bone before it snaps.”

My mouth fell open as I stared at the dark glare Kai gave the man in front of me. He was visibly shaking, and I didn’t blame him.
