The argument ended when Raine said she could sleep in Jace’s limo. The one thing we all agreed on was that when the limo stopped, we all stopped. Did I like the idea of her in the back of a limo alone with Jace? Fuck no, but this was my new reality. So here I was, following the limo with the tinted windows, trying to see any movement. All I could picture was Raine giving him a hot blow job as she knelt on the floor between his legs. I didn’t know what pissed me off more, that he might be getting one or that I wanted one. The image played over and over in my mind, and I didn’t know who was growling louder, my motorcycle or me.

We were nearing the exit to head to my house, and I would have to leave Raine and the black car. It was so tempting to follow it. I hated to leave her. No, hated wasn’t a strong enough word. I despised it. I wanted her with me, barricaded behind the fucking door, but Roach had been blowing up my phone, and I refused to call him back. The fucker and his quest to stalk Lane could wait.

My hands ached, gripping the handlebars like I was trying to choke them to death as I forced myself to peel away from tailing the car. As soon as it was out of sight, my heart rate skyrocketed. This was insane. They were only going twenty minutes away, not taking off forever. Although I wouldn’t put it passed Jace to drive to the airport and fucking take off. If I had a private jet, that’s exactly what I’d be doing. I think I was going to need a few more trackers.

I rolled into the Lost Souls parking lot, and the gate rattled closed behind me. I glanced around for Wilder like he’d poke his head out of the grate or some shit but didn’t see him in the bright afternoon sunshine.

“Snake,” Mannix called out. I looked to the front door of the clubhouse as I dismounted the bike. “Where the fuck have you been?”

I ground my teeth together, annoyed with the interrogation. “Busy. What the fuck is up?”

“Roach has been trying to reach you. We’re having an emergency meeting. Let's go.” Mannix disappeared inside and I swore under my breath.

“Fuck, of course the one time I don’t answer is the one time it’s actually important,” I grumbled, stomping to the door.

I yanked it open, letting it bang against the wall, and treated the stairs like they were my next victim. A few sweetbutts wandered around the lounge, which was odd for this time of day, as I made my way to the meeting room.

“Hey Snake, did you want me to help you get rid of that frown later?” I looked over at Dee. She smiled, but I didn’t say anything. Dee was one of my regulars or had been. Not that I felt the urge to fuck her, but I didn’t have time for sweetbutt shit right now.

I closed the door and pushed the thought out of my mind as the room bustled with activity. The secret door hidden behind a panel in the wall was open, and men were pulling out an assortment of guns and ammunition.

“What the hell is going on,” I asked Roach as I stepped up beside him.

“Desert Vipers are on the move. May or may not be heading our way, but they are armed, and none of the old ladies are riding with them. Not a good sign.”

“Fuck me. I knew this was going to happen sooner or later.” I looked around the room at the men pulling on bulletproof vests and covering them with their T-shirts and leather jackets. This was bullshit. “How many of them are on the move?”

Roach slowly turned his head a looked at me, calm but worried. An emotion I didn’t see on his face often. “All of them.”

I shook my head and wanted to wrap my hands around Chase Mathers’ throat and squeeze. I would say my piece if I lived. The satisfaction of punching Chase in the face was too tempting not to live. Stepping up to the open compartment, I grabbed a vest, and the noise slowly disappeared into the background.

“You love me?”

“I’ve always loved you.”

The conversation with Raine played again in my mind.

“Hey man, you okay?” Roach gripped my shoulder, and I nodded, not bothering to say anything. What did you say when you realized that you actually gave a crap if you lived.

Quickly getting ready, I loaded my guns and made sure they were working well when an idea came to me.

“Be right back,” I said to Roach and jogged out of the room.

“Is everything okay,” Dee asked as I went through. All the girl’s heads turned my way.

“I’d get a gun and a safe spot to hide. Kill anyone that is not one of us,” I said and left them as they scattered. Jogging down the stairs, I pushed open the door and ran around the side of the large building. “Wilder? Hey man, are you here? Wilder?”

It would be my luck that the one time I actually wanted the guy to be stalking my ass, he wouldn’t be anywhere in sight. A flash of light caught my eye, and I looked up toward the top platform of an old rollercoaster. I couldn’t see anyone, but the reflection caught my eye again and it was too rhythmical to be anything but Morse code. I wasn’t up on my code, so I lifted my hands in confusion, hoping Wilder understood I couldn’t understand him. I got my answer as my phone rang a second later with an unknown number.

“Wilder?”

“Hey man, you should really get in a better spot than that if you’re going to be fighting. You’re out in the open.”

I bit my lip. “Thanks for the tip,” I drawled. “I take it you already know and are planning on helping?”

“Why else would I be on the top of a rollercoaster,” he asked, and I’d never wanted to punch myself in the face so hard in my life.

“Okay, great.” I pulled the phone away from my ear, but Wilder called my name. If it weren’t for the fact I was pretty sure he had binoculars trained on me, I would’ve just hung up on him. “Yeah man?”
