“By all means. I’ll wait here and arrange our ride back while you’re browsing.”
“That would be great. Can you please hang on to these?” I say, handing him the shopping bags. “I won't be long, okay?”
“Sure. Take your time.”
Fifteen minutes later I exit holding a bag of brightly colored yarn, the prettiest turquoise butterfly scissors, a wooden yarn holder, a seam ripper, brand-new wood needles, and a gorgeous set of crystal buttons to adorn my clothes.
I am a happy woman.
I find him sitting on a bench, scrolling on his phone. He looks up when I walk back to him, puts the cell away.
“Ready?” He eyes the colorful paper bag and the needles sticking out, a frown on his handsome face.
“It’s yarn. I’ve been wanting to take up knitting for years now. Seems like living out here is making me appreciate a quieter way of life,” I confess and it's true. Living in the Bayou country definitely has its perks.
Chapter 31
Jacob
Iknow I shouldn't have but as the light turns to dark and the hours go by, I can’t help but wonder where he’s taken her, what they’re doing.
If he’s made a pass at her behind my back.
If she did the same.
Wild, unspeakable thoughts race through my mind and there's nothing I can do to alleviate the strange feeling in the pit of my stomach. When I hear her voice again, I look at the time to see if she's kept her promise to me; twenty minutes past eleven.
Should I punish her for being late?
Or kiss her for coming back to me?
I chug down the remainder of the bourbon that kept me company while she was away with my son and I pretend to be asleep on the living room sofa when the door opens. They do their best to keep it down and a pang of jealousy envelopes me when I hear their conversation.
“I've had a great time, Bastien,” she whispers as she shuffles towards me, carrying several shopping bags.
“So have I,” he replies, and I wait until he leaves before I speak.
“You're late, pichouette,” I growl, pulling her down toward me.
She drops the bags on the floor, then looks at her watch, rolling her eyes.
“Oh, please, Jacob. So maybe I am a little late. So what? Are you going to punish me for having a good time without you? We both asked you to come with us, as I recall.”
That’s it.
Punish her, it is.
“I think I am,” I say, gruffly. “It seems you had a little too much fun for my liking.”
Up close, I notice she’s wearing a brand-new sundress, and I slip my hand under it, slowly making my way up her soft thighs. I stroke her, reaching right up to her cleft. I palm her pulsing core, my fingers caressing her delicate folds and then I pull back, leaving her wet and wanton.
“What–”
“Shh,” I cut her off. “No talking. Go back to the door and strip. Then, you will crawl to me. Ask for my forgiveness for being a disobedient little slut.” My voice comes out cold and sinister in the dark room and I can feel her hesitate for a long moment before she finally submits. I stare as she angrily removes her dress and underwear, tossing them on the nearby chair, then slowly kneels and gets on all fours.
“Happy now?” she taunts, and if she was within reach I’d spank her ass hard for talking back to me.
“Crawl to me, little girl, just like that. I wanna see those tits sway.” Reaching down, I pull my throbbing cock out of my pants and focus back on her. “Nah; do it slowly. Just like that. Crawl to me while I decide how to punish your bratty little ass.”
