“Thank you, I will let you know.” She gave us both a quick hug before opening the door and going back to her car.

“Am I leaving that door open for us to go out or do you want to stay home and read that?” I sat the envelope down on the table and walked out the door.

“No, let’s go. It will still be here when we come back.”

ChapterSixteen

Austin

I knewAlly was starting to go out of her mind, but when Belle came and spoke to me after she had stopped by to see her, I knew I had to get her out of the house. So, I went by the store and grabbed a few bits and pieces for a picnic and went to get her. I swear, when she kissed me though, my restraint was about to snap. If it hadn’t been for Savannah coming around, we would have ended up in my bed.

“Are you going to tell me where we are going?”

“No, because then it wouldn’t be a surprise.” Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her turn and look at me.

“You do realize I am still the same girl who hates surprises.”

“When you are taunted with them, yes.”

“Is that not what you are doing?”

“No, I’m driving. You asked.” I turned to look at her as she narrowed her eyes at me. Shaking my head with a grin, I reached out to take her hand in mine. “Relax please, Duchess, you are going to love it. I promise.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I know you and it’s something we have done a million times.”

“Well, that doesn’t narrow it down.”

“I really wasn’t trying to.” She sighed and I couldn’t help but laugh again. I wasn’t trying to torture her, but she just couldn’t help herself. “What about something to get your mind off it?”

Ally raised a brow at me. “Oh, yeah? Like what?”

“Grab my phone from the center bit and unlock it for me?”

“Okay, what’s the code?”

“0-3-1-4”

“That’s my birthday!”

“Yes, I know.”

“Is that coincidence?”

“Not even a little bit. It’s been my code for years, because of you.”

“Why? Didn’t you want to change it when I left?”

“Nope.”

“Did Holly know that?”

“Yes, but she was never left alone with my phone. I couldn’t trust her not to do something stupid like text one of my brothers or Savannah.” She looked down at the phone and unlocked it. She cleared her throat.

“What next?”

“Go to the photos and open it. Tell me what you think of the last four.” She was quiet as she did as I asked. Putting my indicator on, I turned the last corner and headed out of town. We weren’t going toward her parents though; we were heading the opposite way out of town. If she had been paying attention, she would know exactly where we were going. It was why I had chosen to distract her now.
