I roll my eyes at her and then turn my attention to Jessie. “Can you ask around and see if anyone else has seen the kings today or where they are at?”
Jessie stares back at me. He looks uncomfortable with my request, but I know he won’t deny me. “I’ll go start asking.” He gets up from the table and heads to the one full of football players.
I shift my attention back to Raegan. “Something’s wrong, I can fucking feel it. Mateo and Finn were here earlier, and they messaged me that they were coming. Now they’ve disappeared?”
“Did something happen with Carter? Maybe they went back to your house?” she questions, taking a sip of her sweet tea.
“Naw, Carter’s been blowing up my phone for the last hour with dick pics. They are definitely not with him.”
“Dick...pics. Oh, my lord Am... Mia. Why is he sending you those? Haven’t you already seen his... dick?”
I give her a raised eyebrow and an evil grin. “Sure have, and girl, it’s fucking a monster.”
Raegan’s face turns bright red at my comment. “Well...um, at least you’re benefiting from...um, theirdestruction?”
“Girl, I don’t think my pussy’s ever been happier. It’s the rest of me that thinks I’m fucking nuts.” I giggle.
“I have to find them. Theo headed back home today to his fucked-up dad and I have a bad feeling.” Just as I’m about to get up from the table, Jessie walks back over to us.
“Hey, a few of the guys saw Finn and Mateo leaving the groundskeeper’s shed with shovels and heading to Finn’s car. No one knows where they were going, and they sped out like their asses were on fire.”
“Fuck, something’s wrong, I knew it. Listen Jessie, will you and Rae come back to the house with me? I have to somehow convince Tom to help me look for those two. I’m gonna need someone to stay with Carter in case he tries to escape once he realizes something is wrong.”
“Okay, but I’m not looking at any monster dicks.” Raegan gets up from the table and heads toward the trash bin.
“Monster, what now?” Jessie follows us closely, a look of confusion crossing his handsome face.
“Never mind. No one is looking at any monster anything. I just need you to keep him distracted. I don’t know, maybe chain him down to something.” I walk out of the cafeteria and straight out of the school toward my ride—Raegan and Jessie hot on my steps.
“Chain him down?” I hear Jessie question behind me.
Once we’re out of the school parking lot, I see Tom and Adam closely behind us in their vehicle. I gun the Range and head back toward my house. Tom quickly accelerates to catch up to me. We make the trip back to the house in silence, tension riding me hard.
Where the fuck are they? Why did they need shovels? Questions, too many questions and not enough answers from these kings. Have they forgotten that I own them? I’ll need to remedy that real quick. Tension and anger are shooting through my body from all the unanswered questions.
The gate opens, allowing us passage to my driveway. I gun it to the front of the house, braking hard at the last minute and sending Jessie slamming into the back of Raegan’s seat. “Holy fuck Mia, slow down!” Raegan screeches at me.
The front door opens, and Carter’s standing there shirtless and barefoot in just a pair of black gym shorts. “Missed me?” Carter smirks as I approach the front door.

“Mia insisted,” Jessie answers with tension.
“Put some fucking clothes on, you walking STD,” Raegan shrieks as she pushes past Carter to enter the house.
“You wound me, Rae. You know you want to see my abs,” Carter lets out playfully, rubbing said abs and following us all into the office. I hear Tom and Adam right behind them.
“Miss Stratford, I have to insist that you let me know in advance when you are planning to leave an area. We have to be able to protect you properly. We can’t do that if you make rash decisions.” Tom yells at me as he comes through the office door. The vein in his forehead doing jumping jacks.Yeah, yeah, I know I’m a dick.
I ignore Tom’s rant. I know he’s right and even being reasonable but fuck it. My mind is on my missing kings. “Have you found them?” I inquire.
“Found who? What is going on, Mia?” Carter approaches me and grabs my wrist.
“Release me, Carter,” I demand, pulling away from his grip, rage instantly rising in my body. I hate to be grabbed. He and the rest of the kings have themselves to thank for that shit.
