“I doubt very highly they’d think something was wrong with you, but fine, I’ll keep it on the down low. I actually forgot about the Desert Devils, and that meeting has to happen. Okay, let’s aim for the day after tomorrow, then.”

“All right, boss. I’ll take a small handful of guys with me, and we will see what we can find.”

“Thanks, Judd.” Morry pushed away from the wall, and before she knew what was happening, Judd grabbed her and hugged her.

“Woman, you take on way too much shit,” he whispered in her ear before letting go and walking away.

Her eyes followed Judd as he marched off across the concrete floor. Then she saw Jeremy, who had stepped inside the shop area. He was glaring at Judd and then at her. Good, let him think whatever he wanted. Morry headed for the other end of the long building, away from Jeremy.

Jeremy stepped into the shop, looking for Morry. He was pretty sure that she’d come through the bar. It had taken him forever to pawn the new girls flirting with him off on a couple of the other guys without being rude. Other guys would’ve just walked away, but his mother had been big on manners, and despite the shit that went down between him and his parents, those lessons stuck.

Of course, he walked in to see Judd pull Morry into a hug and for her to go along with it like old times. His hand went to the knife at his hip. He was going to murder Judd. Jeremy could already picture the concrete red with Judd’s blood as he slit his throat open. The embrace was brief, but that didn’t matter. The man had touched what was his, and Morry had let him. A rumble escaped his chest as he swore under his breath. Judd didn’t head to the bar, which was a good thing. He was way too amped up and would’ve at least removed a body part—such as the cock between his legs—if he’d come any closer.

Jeremy looked back to the wall where Morry had been standing, but she was gone. He scanned the large building as the far door opened, letting in bright sunlight. Morry’s silhouette was like a beacon before the door closed in her wake. Oh, hell no. He stomped outside and felt like a fucking stalker as he walked across the wide-open area that divided the Legion club from the rest of the property. She made him feel crazy.

She slipped between two outbuildings, and Jeremy knew she was heading for the breezeway that took her to her office. He started jogging and left Morry’s trail to head her off instead. Sure enough, as Jeremy pushed through the door that led to the far section of the building, he could hear Morry talking on her phone. He stepped into an alcove so she wouldn’t be able to see him.

“Get me all the information you can on that group Liberte and send it to my email asap,” she said.

He waited until she walked past and grabbed her by the arm, yanking her into the small space with him.

“Jesus. Fucking. Christ,” she swore as he pushed her up against the wall trapping her. “Jeremy, what the fuck? Are you trying to give me a heart attack? And what the hell are you doing slinking around—”

He didn’t let her finish and dropped his lips to hers. Gripping her hands in both of his, he lifted them above her head as his other hand untucked her tank top and slid up her body until he could roll a nipple between his fingers. He gave it a rough squeeze, and Morry sucked in a ragged breath.

“I thought I told you no more Judd,” he growled against her lips.

She glared at him, her eyes fierce with steely anger in her gray eyes. “And I thought I told you no more sweetbutts. Just get away from me, Jeremy. I don’t have time for this.” She gave his hands a hard push, but he held firm. If she really wanted to break his hold, she would have to hurt him ‘cause he wasn’t letting go.

“I already told you. I don’t want them, and I wasn’t the one feeling up Judd.”

Her eyes narrowed at him, and for a moment, he thought she would follow through and hurt him.

“I wasn’t doing anything like that, and I do have to speak to him. He is still my number two. Why the hell am, I explaining myself to you? I wasn’t the one who was letting sweetbutts paw me up while ordering them drinks.”

“I didn’t let them touch me, and I got them the drinks and got out of there only to find you with Judd.”

“Okay, this is stupid. We’re arguing around in a circle,” Morry said, and he agreed.

“Yeah, but fuck, you’re hot when you’re angry and jealous.” Jeremy nipped at her ear and felt her resistance dissolve. Grabbing her hand, he pulled her from the shallow alcove and around the corner to the storage closet.

“Jeremy, what the hell are you doing,” Morry asked as he closed them in and locked the door.

He cupped her mouth and kissed her hard as he pushed her to the back of the deep storage area. It was dark, but he could still see her well enough from the light shining in the narrow window at the top of the door. Jeremy broke the kiss to pull his T-shirt off and toss it on one of the racks. He did the same with Morry’s and loved that she lifted her arms for him.

“We don’t have time for this, and I’m still pissed with you,” she mumbled before he attacked her mouth again.

No matter what words came out of her mouth, he knew she wanted him. He could taste her need on her tongue and felt it in her fingers as they raked over his skin.

“You have no reason to be pissed with me.” He grabbed her short, sexy hair and pulled her head back, exposing her neck for him. “I’m not Andrew. You need to stop dragging that baggage with you and dropping it at my feet.” She panted in his hold as he nibbled and licked a wet line up the side of her neck. “I only want you,” Jeremy whispered in her ear, and fucking loved it when she shuddered against his body like the words physically touched her.

“I’m trying, but you need not be jealous of Judd. I made a promise, too. I keep my promises.”

She did have a point. Jeremy hadn’t seen her once break a promise she’d made to anyone. But he still wanted to punish her. “True, but you let him touch you. I told you I would kill him if he touched you again. So you can get on your knees and suck my cock, or I hunt him down. It’s your choice.”

“When did you become such an asshole,” she asked, but there was no anger in the question, only heat.
