“I waited for you to come back on your own time.”
“Dammit, Wolf. You’ve been watching methis whole time?” Diego asked as he walked to the door. “Leave.”
Wolf grabbed him by the arm and pinned him to the wall. “There’s no way you can escape me, pet. You’re mine. I own you.”
They made eye contact. “Just because you fucked me doesn’t mean you own me,” Diego said before he tried to pull away. Wolf slammed him into the wall again and wrapped a hand around his neck, squeezing.
His back against the wall, Diego chuckled and grabbed Wolf’s wrist. “You’re so persistent, it’s actually turning me on. But you should be careful, Wolf. You’re in my territory now.” He smirked when the grip on his neck tightened. “All my men are here. Do you want to risk it?”
“I’m not here to kill you. I’m here to take what’s mine,” Wolf said, his eyes hard, and his tone firm.
Diego pressed his palms to Wolf’s broad chest. “What are you going to do, drag me out of here against my will?”
“No,” Wolf said before he let go. “I’m giving you a choice.”
Without a word, they watched each other.
“If I’d taken you down, I would have hit the very top.”
“And you almost did.”
“But I don’t want to kill you anymore. I want you all to myself,” Diego said. He wanted the power and the influence. He wanted all that Wolf had inside of him. Working with Wolf was better than burying him.
Wolf stepped up to Diego, face to face. “Come back to me.”
Diego gazed into his eyes before glancing at his lips. “Why should I?”
“We’re the same. You’re valuable to me.”
So was Wolf, to him. Diego rested his arms over Wolf’s shoulders and pressed his body to his, grinding against him. “And if I say no?”
“You and I both know you wouldn’t mean it.”
Diego brushed his lips against Wolf’s before kissing him. “I’m not going to change.”
“I don’t want you to.”
“They’re going to talk about us.”
“Let them,” Wolf said before connecting their mouths again. “So what is it going to be?”
Diego liked Wolf. He wanted to be with him in more ways than only work, and he knew that Wolf wanted the same thing with him. Things would change for him. He’d have to get used to a new life. But he wouldn’t give up everything either.
“I’ll come back … but under one condition.”
“And what is that?” Wolf asked.
“My gang is important to me. I’ll see them when I need to. You don’t get involved.”
As though Wolf had already known Diego would say that, he smiled. “Then it’s settled.”
To test and see if Wolf was serious, Diego pulled away and opened the door. “Let’s go.” He waited for Wolf to change his mind, to tell Diego to leave his old life behind. That it would be how it was when Wolf had first taken him. Diego wanted to be with Wolf out of choice, not because he was forced into it. But Wolf was not going to keep him captive anymore. He was letting him be free. To be himself.
Wolf did not speak. Without hesitation, he walked out of the office. Diego followed him.
