“Mission accomplished,” I said, laughing as I wrapped my arm around his neck.
Leo laughed with me for a second before his mouth flattened to a hard line.
“So I’m with you until I drive you to the airport. That is,” he said, tossing me a hopeful smile as he swayed us back and forth, “if you’ll have me.”
“Fuck yeah, I’ll have you.” I chuckled and dropped my head into his chest, breathing him in to make sure he was real.
“So beautiful,” he whispered, bringing our joined hands to his chest as he studied me. “I think you caught a little more sun.”
He dragged his gaze up and down my body, heating me up from the inside out.
“I see more freckles.”
The air whooshed out of my lungs again. My reaction to this guy was so overpowering it made my head spin.
“I guess you aren’t here to work, right, Reyes?”
Leo’s boss regarded us with a smirk and shake of his head.
“No, Jimmy. I’m not,” he said to his boss with his eyes still on mine. “I’m booked for the night.”
“We’re the only ones dancing at this end of the bar,” I whispered, craning my neck to a few puzzled stares around us.
“Do you really think this is the weirdest thing we’ve done since we met?” he whispered back. “For the next few hours, we aren’t questioning or overthinking a damn thing.”
“Good point. So, what are we doing for the rest of tonight?”
“Well, I saw you had dinner already. I was going to ask if you were up for room service, maybe on the terrace? I enjoyed the last meal I had there.” He raised a brow, sending more heat curling up my neck.
The last meal he’d eaten on the suite terrace was me.
“My flight is at noon,” I said, hating having to inject any reality into this amazing fantasy I’d fallen back into.
“Plenty of time. Well, no, not nearly enough time. But,” he sighed, cupping my chin and bringing me in for a kiss, “I’ll take it.”
EIGHTEEN
KRISTINA
My eyes blinked open right before my phone alarm blared next to me. My head was heavy as I lifted it up off the pillow, both from the lack of sleep and the reality of going home today hitting me.
Sex with Leo was as incredible as it always was, but I wasn’t prepared for the sudden intensity. It had the euphoria of makeup sex with the undercurrent of despair for our impending goodbye.
This one wouldn’t get an unexpected reprieve. I’d get out of his truck at the airport, and that would really be it.
The total time I’d known Leo was four days, rounded up with loose math. Not nearly enough time to form the dull pang in my gut at never seeing him again.
I was supposed to go home relaxed and refreshed, not confused and conflicted.
“Five more minutes?” he asked, pulling my arm toward him until I was draped over him.
“I need to finish packing. I planned to when I got back to the suite last night, but someone distracted me.” A yawn stretched my mouth as I rested my head on his chest.
“So, I wore you out?” he teased as he kissed the back of my head.
“It was all that sun and snorkeling. It’s a rough life down here.”
His laugh rumbled against my cheek.
