NS:Well, we’re both getting on a bit now!

AB:Nikki, is there any possibility at all that in 2003 it was thesamegirl as in 1990?

NS:No. I met her mum and chatted across the doorstep. The girl in 2003 was a care absconder. You’ve spoken to Farrah Parekh?

AB:I’ve not even heard that name before.

NS:She was a PC in 2003, interviewed the girl from the Alperton Angels. You’re in contact with Don Makepeace? Well, he would know that.

AB:He probably forgot to say. Thanks, Nikki.

[I left out your pleasantries. The Ashleigh thing is really strange. Mand, does it occur to you that Don Makepeace doesn’t want you to find either Holly? EC]

WhatsApp messages between Ellie Cooper and me, 14 August 2021:

Sorry to message in the middle of the night but something just occurred. Telling Holly and Jonah the baby can’t be killed ‘until the alignment’ ensures they DON’T kill it. Because that’s not what Gabriel has in mind.

Ellie Cooper

He hoped the first Holly would have a baby. When she didn’t, he started using her to commit petty fraud until she left him and went home. He tells these girls the baby is the Antichrist so they won’t bond with it, or feel bad when it ‘disappears’.

Ellie Cooper

Mand, I think Gabriel intended to SELL Holly’s baby. It fits with his criminal MO. He’s a convicted fraudster. He pulls the other angels in with the promise of cash …

Ellie Cooper

The Assembly is when Gabriel passes the kid to its adoptive parents who’ve paid him for it

Morning! Thanks for this. Good thinking

Interview with Police Sergeant Farrah Parekh in Amanda’s car after visiting the Starbucks at Greenford Quay, 16 August 2021. Transcribed by Ellie Cooper.

[As ever, in the absence of instructions to the contrary, I’ll cut out any pleasantries. EC]

AB:Can you explain when and how you interviewed Holly from the Alperton Angels in 2003?

FP:It was the day after the massacre in the warehouse. She’d spent the night in a children’s centre. We interviewed her at Alperton nick. I led the interview, but we had to tread carefully, she was young and had been through a trauma. There was an appropriate adult in attendance. All by the book.

AB:Of course.

FP:We wanted to know what had happened the previous night, first and foremost—

AB:Had you been told how many bodies there were?

FP:[She pauses here for a quite a long time. Interesting. EC] They said four, I think, er … It was a long time ago. From what I recall, Holly was still under the influence of the cult. She talked as if she was an other-worldly creature inside a human body. It was strange. But she was brainwashed to believe it. She described the baby as the Antichrist.

AB:Where was the baby at this point?

FP:It had been taken away. [She lowers her voice. EC] I don’t think she got it back. That was it. Social services took over. Best thing.

AB:It was eventually adopted?

FP:I don’t know.
